About Me

CHECK OUT MY GROUPS - HELP FIGHT SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY!!!
Every day we fight a monster. It's name is Spinal Muscular Atrophy. What does this monster do? It kills children. It is a very real monster and I have never been so scared of anything my entire life.
My daughter Zoe was diagnosed at 14 months old with SMA. She cannot walk, stand, or crawl. Although confined to a wheelchair, not much stops this little girl. Unfortunately a cold can knock her down quickly. A cold can kill a child with SMA.
Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a genetic neuromuscular disease that affects voluntary muscle control. This monster also tears away at its victims respiratory systems.
Each time we lose another battle with SMA, I look at my child. Her bright blue eyes. Her loving smile. I hear her contagious laugh and the absolutely amazing things that come out of her mouth. And I say, "NOT MY CHILD. YOU WILL NOT TAKE MY CHILD AWAY FROM ME." I simply won't allow it.
Want to help us fight this awful monster? Go to www.fsma.org or www.smasupport.com.

My Interests

I spent seven years as an active duty Marine before settling down to become a wife and mommy. I tried the corporate world for a bit, but I am now a CNA working at home for Zoe!
