About Me

I'm a follower of Jesus and have been for 17 years. He seems more amazing now than He did then. I love to travel - I've been to a few countries and hope to go to a many more. I also like languages and trying to learn them. I'm very unamerican in that I seem to be a "high outer wall, low inner wall" type person (most Americans are opposite). That means people either know me or they don't. I'm also not very good at summarizing, so I think I'm done. :)

My Interests

Travel! Other countries and the people there. Science (especially astronomy), swimming, reading, card games (Spades and Euchre!)

I'd like to meet:

Lots of people.

Music:

Third Day, Jason Upton, Misty Edwards, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W Smith, Todd Agnew, Hillsongs, Kutless, and many others

Movies:

Apollo 13, Narnia, The Time Machine, The Princess Bride, Star Wars, LotR, While You Were Sleeping

Television:

As in series? Uhm...I don't watch anything. But if I had cable, I'd watch Star Trek, SG1, and maybe Trading Spaces. I'd watch 24, but I find it to be highly addictive.

Books:

stuff by Ted Dekker and Eric Wison (read Ted and Eric), Enchantment (Orson Scott Card), This Present & Piercing the Darkness (Frank Peretti), stuff by Bill Myers, stuff by Francine Rivers

Heroes:

Helen Keller and Perpetua

Writing a Novel

I've mentioned that I'm writing a novel, and I'm 56,000+ words in.  That's, oh, I guess over 200 pages.I cannot believe I've written that much!  I mean, before this month, the longest thing ...

Broken Glass

So, uhm, I'm writing a novel.  My encouragement has been nanowrimo.org.  I have the month of November to write a 50,000 word novel.  I'm just over 7000 right now.  That's about 3 t...

Gospital

That's a term I heard from the speaker at church tonight.  He said sometimes Christians act like a Gospital.  Listen to the person who's come to us with a problem, stand aloof and analyse wh...

Get all You Need From....

I know I posted this elsewhere, but I'm double posting, because many people don't read where else I posted.  I hear "Get all you need from God," a lot.  I know there's some truth in it. ...

The Song of Our Lives

I admit to shamelessly stealing ideas on this from a few different sources, but I'm sure my own thoughts are intermingled here somewhere.  :) Our lives are like a song - a beautiful song that wa...

Marriage

I've been experiencing this strange phenomenon as of late: I've wanted to get married.  I haven't been interested in marriage for several years.  In fact, if you asked me if I'd rather get m...

Living We Die

I'm in a "Woooooaaaaaaaaaahhh!!  Learning a million things at once...don't know if I can retain all this!" phase in life right now.  Thankfully, I've been pretty good about journaling it (on...

Longing for Heaven

Some people have criticized when Christians long for heaven, saying there are a lot of great things here on earth and it discounts those things, and sometimes accusing Christians of dispising good thi...
