About Me

For the past 15 years I've been writing songs inspired by many different experiences in my life. I started writing to better express what I was thinking and feeling at the time. It was easier for me to sing about it than talk about it. Writing became my way of dealing with reality. Now, I'm inspired by my children. As far as my music, I currently have 45 songs complete, and around 10 that I'm working on. I hope you like what you hear. I welcome any feedback, good or bad.

Influences: Ever since I was a child, music has been a big part of my life. I remember listening to music by The Beatles and Stevie Wonder. Like most people from the 60's and 70's, you could spend hours sitting on the floor with a stack of scratchy records and a record player from Woolworths. The music took you to a place nothing else could. I was exposed to some of the greatest music ever recorded and I was only 5 or 6 years old. Along the years I found myself listening to everything and anything that made me feel something. If you ever get in the mood for some good soul music, listen to Donny Hathaway sing "A song for you" or Sam Cooke sing "A change is gonna come". You can hear every emotion in their voices. Not many people can pull that off. Well, before I run out of space, these are some of my other influences. The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Sly and the Family Stone, Sam Cooke, Elvis, The Eagles, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, Prince, Coldplay, John Hiatt, John Lennon, Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Kenny Loggins, Colin Hay, Boz Scaggs, Ray LaMontagne, Al Green, Bill Withers, John Mayer, Martin Sexton, Jeffrey Gaines, Amos Lee, Damien Rice, James Morrison, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Jason Mraz, Lenny Kravitz, David Ryan Harris, Justin Young, Corinne Baily Rae, Stereophonics, The Stylistics, The Spinners, Earth Wind and Fire, Lionel Ritchie, Roberta Flack, 70's R&B and Classic Rock, and most importantly, my wife and kids.
