Live music, movies, socializing, traveling, shopping, drinking with friends and of course, napping.
I'd like to meet:
Christopher Walken
Music:
In no particular order... the Beatles, Wilco, Cake, Modest Mouse, Dead Kennedys, U2, the Clash, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Spoon, Broken Social Scene, AC/DC, the Who, The Postal Service, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Queen, Morphine, Sex Pistols, Ryan Adams, Flaming Lips, Jeff Buckley, Velvet Underground/ Lou Reed, Muse, the Cramps, Radiohead, the Police (not solo Sting), Tortoise, Echo and the Bunnymen, Al Green, Tenacious D, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Weezer, Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, Death Cab For Cutie, the GoGo's, Stevie Wonder, the Smiths, Ramones, Stereolab, Beck, Foo Fighters, Iron & Wine, David Bowie & Led Zeppelin. Just to name a few. This is a difficult list to keep short! I just don't like rap or country (not Johnny Cash and Hank Sr. but the new stuff).
Movies:
The Professional, American Psycho, the Graduate, Blazing Saddles, Shaun of the Dead, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Casablanca, Four Rooms, Finding Nemo, Coming to America, the Big Leboski, Splendor in the Grass, American Beauty, Annie Hall, Super Size Me, Best In Show, True Romance, Mystery Train, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Withnail and I, Gone With the Wind, Fargo, This Is Spinal Tap, Bonnie & Clyde, High Fidelity, Office Space, Lost in Translation, Little Miss Sunshine, Borat... Did I mention my live in boyfriend is OBSESSED with movies? I'm sure I will add a few more from the 50+ movies in our Netflix queue.
Television:
Sopranos, Mythbusters, Sex & the City, Futurama, Chappelle Show, Lost, Six Feet Under, No Reservations, The Wire, King of the Hill, Curb you Enthusiasm, Extras, The Office, Reno 911, Dirty Jobs, Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, the short lived Long Way Around, the Daily Show, House and sometimes Inside the Actors Studio. Wow, I did not realize I watch so much mind-numbing television.
Books:
I read quite a bit each week... my taste varies from biographies to mysteries. I suppose I prefer non-fiction if I really think about it. I should read more about the independent movie business so when my boyfriend finishes his screen play I can help him become famous!!! Oh, and I'm a magazine whore. I subscribe to: In Style, Entertainment Weekly, Real Simple, Modern Bride (ONLY cause I'm in the bridal industry), Vanity Fair, Interview, Southern Living, House Beautiful and Vogue. I purchase some what regularly Rolling Stone, Mental Floss, Violet, Popular Science and Consumer Reports. Hello is great but too expensive to subscribe to. Do I have time to read all of these? Not really, but my doctors office waiting room is well stocked thanks to me! And if one does not have enough to do in the mere 24 hours a day given, The Onion is the greatest newspaper in print. Read in today!
Heroes:
How about people/things/orginizations I HATE...
Patcholli, Wal-Mart, rap (all of it), Paris Hilton (I'd rather eat broken glass than know what/who she's doing), Wal-Mart, Al Franken, most things the ACLU CURRENTLY do, Britney Spears, Wal-Mart, People magazine, tofu, overpriced restuarants that make trendy food that's really not that good, yellow SUV's (hello... baywatch!), Wal-Mart, unnecessary plastic surgery, cocktails that are not martinis but served in martini glasses and called things like "Chocolate Martini", Wal-Mart, cigars, overpriced concert tickets and "last tours" that are not really the last, Wal-Mart, long hair on guys, video games, yard work, cheap panties, 18 and up bars/clubs, Wal-Mart, people who claim they do not watch televison (NO American that is not homeless or blind or both does not not watch TV), chewing tabakke, people that do not frequent their local library, people who do not vote, Wal-Mart and um, well... Wal-Mart.
