I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a musician. I am here on MySpace mostly so friends can contact me, especially people who I've lost contact with over the years. But it's not working. Mostly, I meet people in real life, and add them as MySpace friends. I guess most of my old contacts are dead by now.

My Interests

Playing & listening to music, really good food, wine, wife, golf, travelling (love doing it, hate planning it- Go Laura!) movies, computer stuff to an extent, uh, snorkeling, cross-country skiing (way fun in Middle Tennessee....)

I'd like to meet:

Robert Plant, Bono, Jennifer Garner (just meet, Laura, really!), maybe Sting but probably not, Tony Levin, any remaining Beatle

Music:

Led Zeppelin, Yes, The Beatles, Old Aerosmith, Pat Metheny, Jeff Beck, Peter Gabriel, Older U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steely Dan, hmm, that one song by Dishwalla, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, G Love, Graham Central Station, Sly & the Family Stone, New Radicals, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Tom Petty, Miles Davis. Not much new stuff in here, is there? Somebody needs to make some good music. Hey, what is it I do for a living again?

Movies:

Shawshank Redemption, This is Spinal Tap (and all the others by those guys), Office Space,, The Godfather, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Breakfast at Tiffany's (in spite of the song), Easy Rider, American Beauty. That's it. All the other movies are bad ones.

Television:

Freaks and Geeks, Firefly (both cancelled-dang. But we got them on DVD), Lost, Alias, My Name is Earl, Southpark, Chapelle's Show, some that I can't admit to in public.

Books:

I stopped reading In Cold Blood. Overrated, maybe? and started up again with Paris 1919 (non-fiction about the allies shaping the world after WWI and screwing a lot of things up). Past favorites: Catcher in the Rye, Slaughterhouse Five, Catch 22, Auto Repair for Dummies, Watership Down, The Mouse and the Motorcycle and some espionage/thriller thing by some guy. I always enjoy a story that begins: "Dear ____, I never thought this would happen to me, but..."

Worst gig ever? Surprise guest appearance

Ok, it was only a dream. I rarely dream about playing music, and when I do, it's usually something good. Not like Russ' recurring dream about his drums being all askew and unplayable. This is an outdoo...
