If you can figure out the why, you can cope with any how.

About Me

I am a 27 year-old and living in Brooklyn, NY. I am loving New York City since my recent move over the summer. A small piece of advice -- everyone should try to live here once.I teach at a private school in Flatbush. My dream is to one day be a writer. Hopefully, I can write something significant and worthwhile. And with the significance of the writing, hopefully, comes riches and fame (fingers crossed).I sometimes wish I were better at the more important, practical things. Fixing a drain pipe or changing the spark plugs on my car could eventually be useful. Instead, I spend my time loosing myself in stories.I wasn't always as happy as I am now. But, I have found the place in the world where I am supposed to be. And to the person reading this; if you are not at that place, you must travel until you find it. In my place, New York City, I have found nice people to be around, important family members, and a beautiful girlfriend to spend my time with.

My Interests

Literature, film, writing, photography, music, museums, sports... I am interested in so many things -- these are just a few.

Music:

I'm into a variety of different types of music. Bob Dylan is where it all begins for me. People say that your musical taste can be traced back to either The Beatles or The Stones. I believe that my taste drifts back to Bob. I like The Magnetic Fields, Bright Eyes, The White Stripes, Iron and Wine, Neutral Milk Hotel, Ben Kweller, The Shins, Aimee Mann, Pavement, Beck, My Morning Jacket, John Prine, OutKast, and Paul Simon, and there are so, so many other great musicians and music. And, finally, I think if I had to choose between The Beatles and Stones, I'd be a Beatles man.

Movies:

I love film. And, couldn't be more of a nerd for directors and actors working on independant films. Old movies too, I love how raw they are. Some favorites include "Rear Window," "It's a Wonderful Life," "Vertigo," and "Casablanca." Some more recent films are "Babel," "The Departed," "Little Miss Sunshine," and "Notes on a Scandel." But, mostly I am into directors like Wes Anderson, P. T. Anderson, Richard Linklater, Spike Jonze, Ang Lee, Christopher Guest, Stephen Frears, Marc Forster, and, not to forget, Tarantino, Crowe, and Tim Burton. And, finally, I love people like Philip Seymour Hoffman, John C. Reilly, Don Cheadle, Julianne Moore, and, the genius -- Charlie Kaufman.

Television:

Not watching as much television these days. But, I make sure to catch Lost, 24, The Office, SNL, and House.

Books:

All Vonnegut, Kesey, Tom Wolfe, Thompson, Russell Banks, Orwell, Ayn Rand -- classics and political books

Heroes:

People with positive attitudes.
