About Me

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my profile! I'm the contemporary choreographer in the Bolshoi Academy in Moscow. I'm originally from Santa Cruz, CA and came here to study pedagogy at the Vaganova academy in St. Petersburg. I've been here for a few years creating neo-classic pieces for companies, competitions and for the Academy. Right now I'm finishing a one act ballet called "Generation X". Next year, I am creating a contemporary ballet program called Prodigy Ballet International (PBI). We will be based in LA, NYC and in Moscow giving our dancers international opportunities. I enjoy giving master classes, coaching and teaching private lessons, but most of all choreographing new work.SITE: http://BOLSHOI2006.GOOGLEPAGES.COM.Cheers - Eric.

My Interests

Spending time with my wife, choreographing new work, going to movies, studying Russian, visiting my family and friends in CA as much as possible, Exploring Russia. One small hobbie- writing and researching interesting quotes.

I'd like to meet:

Artists of any genre, people who have a passion for dance, music, especially ballet. Some people who are not living anymore. L. V. Beethoven, Jean George Noverre, Matisse, Einstein...many.

Music:

Quick Sample: Beethoven, Chopin, Yevgeny Dolga, DMX, Billy Idol, Dire Straits, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Propeller head...

Movies:

Immortal Beloved directed by Bernard Rose, starring Gary Oldman, brilliant film about Beethoven.

Television:

When in America: Classic arts showcase, history channel, discovery channel- not really into TVWhen in Russia: Channel Kultura

Books:

Lately reading a lot of Russian history, history of religion, biographies, newspapers and journals about politics (although its disillusioning and depressing) My favorite book is by Jean-Geroge Noverre "Letters on Dancing" he was a genius.

Heroes:

My late grandfather Red Murrell, my friend Jerry Blinkenberg who passed away this year.
