Cassie Holt was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. As a small child her parents noticed her gift for singing, putting a guitar in her hands at the age thirteen. She went straight to work, putting all her poems to music. When she was fifteen she started playing at house parties around Mesquite. At seventeen she started playing open mic nights at a coffee house, which she packed every Thursday night. If its possible to headline an open mic night, she did. At nineteen she moved to winter Park, Florida with her best friend and music/business partner, Justin Malone. There she began to dabble in studio recording for the first time. They would stay up for days at a time writing songs and making beats on a crappy keyboard and mic put in the hall with blankets hung up for a booth. They moved back home to Dallas, and at age twenty they started Self Storage Records and opened a modest studio in a storage unit. There she watched and help record many local artists, as well as herself. It was the place to be and the place to record, until they were robbed at gun point for all of their music and every piece of their studio. (You know who you are and you ain't no soldier) But during the time it was open she had the privlege of working with many underground legends such as, the lioness a.k.a. miss vickie, encyk tha grizz, boogie B, J Will, Tony Athy, and many more people who came into and affected her life. They may have stolen everything she owned but they cant silence her. From there she kept writing, doing anything she could to be on stage, playing parties, singing at weddings and winning countless kareoke contests. She was part of one of the first hip-hop shows at Tom Cats, "Phat music for Phat people." She was featured on princess cuts' last mixtape in which she met and worked with many local female mc's that she plans on working with in the near future on more projects. Her style is versatile, which is what makes her unique. She can work with any kind of music thrown at her....jazz, blues, hip hop, r&b, folk, rock, even country. She is determined and focused and ready to show yall what Dallas, Texas is all about. Wether you like her or not, you can't deny that you leave her shows knowing she gave it everything she had.
