Mo is short for Emotion nee Camika Spencer. Born between an apology and Marvin Gaye's, "Let's Get It On." Mo is consistently native to feelings, words, expression, music, and the state of progression. No stranger to her talents, Mo has penned three novels (two of which were best-sellers) and has traveled extensively as a performance poet prior to examining her musical self.The history includes church choirs, her father's album collection, UIL singing competitions, vocal groups, keyboards, turntables, numerous talent shows, 808's and notable recorded stage performances at an early age.Never one to be self-underestimated, Emotion is a diligent artist in all regards of the craft of expression.Her sound-lab, The Cosmos, is an amalgamation of musicians who share her vision and love for making the live experience a grand musical conversation between Universe, Artist and Audience. To see her live is the goal.With a distinctive ..tomboy.. sound that borders on soul-alternative funk and be-bop jazz, Mo's sound is flava-ful, rich, and sometimes extremely grimy like her lyrics.She admires poetry enough to spit it. She loves hip hop enough to not glamourize its faults and she is wise enough to take the music beyond the borders of the ears art is the visual soundtrack to Emotion's style.
