Club99 - ska music ambassadas -
During 1998 Robert, Patrick and Chris, three young friends from the roundabouts of Bolzano-Bozen, decided to play ska music and began forming what was to become the very first ska band in the history of their own home country South Tyrol, (Italy). During springtime of 1999 the hornsection was born and saxophonist Andreas joined the band. During that period the band got the name Club99 and the first songs (such as Club99 and Spring) were composed. A few months later also Igor (singer), Christian (trumpet) and Mauro (keyboards) joined the band. Club99 played two concerts during the last months of 1999 and a couple of live shows were instantly booked for the following months. The year 2001 brought a new member : Simon on alto sax, and even more concerts followed. During summer 2002 Club99 recorded their first Album Taxi Driver, 13 ska songs flavoured with dub, reggae, punk and latin elements. This CD was released and presented at the 2nd edition of the xmas-ska-festival on December 2002 in Bolzano (Italy) and during that memorable evening more than 200 copies were sold. Simon began his civil service by the end of 2003 and Michele took his place on alto sax. Club99 has played more than 170 concerts during the past years and has shared the stage with bands like The Slackers, Fermin Muguruza, Mr. Review, Mark Foggo, Meganoidi, Persiana Jones, Arpioni, Skaos and many others.Discography:
