Dead End, Bitch.

About Me

In 2003, bassist Philip Rossi and guitarist Anthony Sifoni were part of a classic rock band named Gogner. With greater ambitions than the ones which Gogner aimed for, Anthony and Philip decided to leave the band to start a new, heavier and more aggressive musical group.Chris Pereira, one of Philip's very good friends, picked up the bass in the summer of 2004. A few months earlier, Philip dropped the bass and started to play guitar. Philip and Chris spoke about starting a band when jamming to Nirvana tunes at Philip's house. The two decided to get this new project underway and thought of drummers to fill the sound.Enter James Maddalena. Anthony was part of a hardcore band with the young and talented drummer. With no will to continue, their band split with no regrets. Philip and James met at VMCs 2004 Battle of the Bands at which they started discussing a possible new band together.Philip spoke to James about the idea of a new band. James joined without asking any questions. One day in the metro while coming back from downtown, Philip and Chris spoke about acquiring a second guitarist. Philip proposed Anthony Sifoni. Chris immediately agreed and the two went to speak to James about the possibility of a second guitarist. James, who already knew Anthonys musical passion, also agreed.Chris and Philip approached Anthony with the thought of joining their band, and without a band to play in, Anthony agreed. Their first band practice occurred on April 16th, 2005. As soon as they played their first song, they knew that the band was set and able to take on great challenges. The four band members started to think of a band name. Certain ideas included; Ominous and Obsolete, but nothing seemed to fulfill the foursome's musical expression. One night while eating chocolate cake at Anthony's house, James came across a board game entitled 13 Dead-end Drive. James randomly said aloud that this should be the name of their band. With a sense of aw and astonishment, the other three band members agreed.Today, the band can be found in James garage cooking up a storm of progressive, yet hard-hitting Metal. With the help of James' older brother Eric, and the support from their friends and family, 13 Dead-end Drive has a bright future ahead of themselves in the overpowering and bone-crunching Montreal Metal Scene. Their first full length demo is expected to be released in February 2007.
