The Apathy Syndrome (R.I.P 2003-2006)

Your smile looks better with broken teeth

About Me

The old lady picks up her crutches and stares into the mirror to examine the scars of her past, the now tattoos of her life. She touches her tender and battered face and feels her healing limbs strike her with pain once again. This is the rut she is set to be stuck in for the rest of her life, she senses a feeling of hopelessness, of entrapment. She knows she's been here so many times before. There's only one way for her to put a stop to the routine she has lived for so very long. Her actions won't be pretty or beautiful and certainly won't be humane but her suffering will finally be put to rest. This is the death of apathy she whispers. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------We write songs that make you want to tear out other peoples eyes and piss in their sockets. Our lyrics aren't about how much we love you or her. We're not heartbroken. We don't have cool hair or fashionable tastes. We'd sleep with your mother if we ever had the chance. Do not listen to our music around your Grandparents. We'll never get played on Kerrang or share a stage with Bullet For My Valentine or Avenged Sevenfold. We might just be everything you hate in life..........but for some reason you'll love us anyway.Listen to our songs, tell us what you think.------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------"The biggest thing to have ever hit Darlington since the Quakers." - Will Westall 11/12/05---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------Apathy hit the stage at around 10:15, unfortunately to a smaller crowd than the previous bands but without a doubt they make their presence known immediately. Kicking off with the bludgingly "Remember you are nothing". Apathy set about playing easily the most energetic and intense of the night. Having seen them 3 times previously I have to say this was probably their best performance. Also worth noting was two new tracks which had a definate grinding and a much more violent assault than previous material.Palmer provided a very entertaining gig aswell, jumping into the crowd and going mental. Bif was also showing off his moves, giving us all some stellar dance tips and the blood on his guitar at the end just proved it!I felt Apathy put on a really good end to the Metal Night and showed they are still the big force in Darlington as far as metal goes, it was unforuante that the whole night was plagued by terrible sound engineering but you can't have everything. A good round up for the evening. The Apathy Syndrome Setlist -(Remeber You Are Nothing, The Pickford Spiral, Pissing on the Dead, See Nothing, Hear Nothing, Speak Nothing, Victim of the 2, The Face Behind, A Perfect Weapon )(www.dognoise.co.uk)
