About Me

I'm a freelance Hip-Hop Writer/Journalist; that thinks females with full body tattoos are the sexiest people on the planet, (but I'm also a sucker for nice legs)! Most importantly though, I love my job. If I wasn't doing this, then I'd be lost to the world! Hip-Hop first sparked my interest when I heard Audio Two's "Top Billin'" in 1987, when I was nine years old (damn, I'm really showing my age). [laughter]
Then when Brand Nubian hit with their album, "One For All" in 1990, that's when I knew I wanted a career in music. I've been told I have an ego, and that I'm cocky when it comes to my music knowledge, and my writing capability. But I think it's just confidence. I put all of my passion, as well as my heart and soul into this music, along with other genres of music too; (not just Hip-Hop). So I know that shows throughout all my publishings.
Oh yeah, and my "REAL" government born name is "Serge." People always ask me if it's just a nickname, or if it's short for something else. Nope, it's just "S-E-R-G-E." I was born and raised in Boston MA, but now New York City is my home. I'm 100% Haitian, and I would love to go visit Haiti someday when it's not crazy over there because I've never been. It was pretty hard to master the Creole Language, especially because I wasn't born there, but I think I've done a pretty good job of that. Learning my native language was a really big and important thing for me.
Someday when I have my kids, hopefully I'll be able to pass it onto them. I'm a music ADDICT!!! Most importantly though, if you ask me to borrow a CD, 10 times out of 10; the answer is an emphatic NO!! I'm a goof ball who loves to laugh, and make people laugh alongside with me. I love to hangout with my boys, and just have crazy and memorable times together. Some people might say I love alcohol too much, but I consider myself an "extreme social drinker" [laughter]. Right now, I don't have any children, but hopefully someday it will happen with the right person. I have 3 wonderful and beautiful nephews and for now, that's all the kids I need until I'm ready for my own.

Movies:

Hmm.... Lets see; Blades Of Glory, Wedding Crashers, Starsky and Hutch, Anchorman, Old School, Zoolander, and Elf. Or you can basically say any movie with Vince Vaughn, Owen and Luke Wilson, Ben Stiller, and Will Farrell in it.

Television:

I'm addict for police shows. My all time favorite is the whole entire Law and Order series. I also like Nip Tuck, CSI: New York, CSI: Miami, Sportscenter, NCIS, Sex in the City, Entourage, The Conan O'Brien Show (he's an idiot, lol). Saturday morning cartoons, (I'm still a kid at heart). I can forget about wrestling. Don't worry, I know it's fake. It's just a man's version of soap operas. R.I.P. Chris "The Rabid Wolverine" Benoit.

Books:

Do magazines count? If so; then The Source, XXL, Vibe, or basically any music magazine. I also read Cosmo magazine. I like to read the Cosmo Confessions, it's a guitly pleasure of mine.

Heroes:

I like mine on wheat bread, with honey turkey, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper, oil and vinegar. Throw in a few shots of Patron, and a couple of Vodkas with Red Bull; and "Serge" is a happy camper.
