Their single Firefly from Lying To Be Sweet (EMI Music), can be found on compilations produced in South Africa, Spain, Germany, England, USA and Japan, and was remixed by top DJs such as Ben Watt EBTG, David Alvarado and Wally Lopez. While true to Sweet Electra..s electronic roots, the group..s latest album, CAMA, ventures into rock and pop territory, with fresh and unexpected results. CAMA features Cecilia Batida of Tijuana NO, the Japanese artist Sakiko Yocko, and Sweet Electra..s sultry lead singer..Nardiz Cooke, a graduate of Fermatta Music Academy, where Natalia Lafourcade, Liquits and Joselo of Cafe Tacvba all studied.
In September of 2006, Sweet Electra headlined New York City..s Celebrate Mexico Now festival. The group kicked off the celebration at Joe..s Pub and played packed shows at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn and Carlitos Caf.. in East Harlem. Sweet Electra rounded out this series of well-received concerts at a private party at Lincoln Center thrown in honor of the Mexican film director Alfonso Cuaron. Sponsored by Don Julio Tequila, the party was a star-studded event where guests including Heather Graham, Ethan Hawke and Pedro Almodovar enjoyed Sweet Electra..s performance.
