I am here for Friends

About Me

I had a gypsy-childhood, having lived in 9 different cities all over this beautiful country by the time I was 16. Needless to say, I'm adaptable. I emote. I play. I like solitude. I love when people "get" each other. I only shave one leg per shower. I love any game that involves shouting out answers. I think there are moments when life seems so amazing I'll explode. I don't like raw onions or mean sarcasm or being cold when sleeping. Give me a good thunderstorm anyday. My damn childhood shyness comes out when I least expect it. I love driving at night with a good song blaring. I wish my parents hadn't let me give up the violin. My pupils dilate under flourescent light for no good reason. I'm a weird mixture of old-fashioned and anti-traditional. I love spontaneous kisses and moments of inspiration and lots of windows.More of Marin: http://resumes.actorsaccess.com/marinvanvleck

My Blog

Im scary in the dark.

It's 11pm.  I'm in my sweats and t-shirt.  Hair pulled back.  According to me, I couldn't look more average if I tried.  Cozy and welcoming and "come visit me in my dorm"-esqu...

night for the misbegotten

Last night, it happened.  I can speed through my entire history and still say it was the absolute worst smell of my life.  It was midnight-ish, and without warning, it started seeping i...

tuesday evening sky

Scrambling through my box of odds and ends of who I used to be, I found one thing, one thing that could save me. I quickly threw out the rest of the box and turned this thing over and over in my hand...

Why my name is not Grace.

Nothing seems to illicit concern from others like stumbling on stairs.  Maybe it's the sound it makes--- always louder than it is painful.  I think we all know what I'm talking about. Or don...

Don't Take Tree Books From Strangers

I'm in a public restroom.  I'm washing my hands.  The woman at the other sink stops me as I'm starting to head towards the door and says, "Oh could you wait?  I have a li...

decision to end all friday afternoon decisions

I am officially done with being a grown-up for today.  I've just decided. So in honor of this momentous occasion, I call for a little Shel Silverstein (and a Capri Sun): "If I had a brontos...
