About Me

So I've had a "Myspace" now for about 4 or 5 years and I have put off writing in the "About Me" section partly because I'm lazy but mostly because I don't like the idea of exposing myself and my thoughts on the web for everyone to see. But now that I've been perpetuating this addiction for so long, I thought, "What the heck? I'll give it a go..." So here I am... I am a very loving and compassionate person although I am often misunderstood as being uncaring and self-centered. This is because I tend to be very guarded with my emotions.. then again, who isn't? But sometimes I will crack under the many pressures of life and my tough exterior will peel away to reveal a naked and vulnerable me. I tend to be drawn to people who are either my exact duplicate or my exact opposite... I love to laugh and therefore cannot stand to be around uptight, boring people. I'm not looking to meet people who thrive on drama because Lord knows I have enough of it! I LOVE spending time with those I care for but also value my alone time. Sometimes I just need to be with myself for a while... I enjoy being around people but would almost always rather stay home and watch a movie than go out and party hard all night. I have trouble with procrastination and often need an encouraging shove from my peers to be proactive. In all honesty, I would rather sit on the couch watching tv all day than go out and apply for jobs that I simply have no interest in. At the same time, I'm a very active individual and am currently pursuing a career in the performing arts. I am part of an established dance company in Long Beach and frequently teach at my old high school in Arcadia. And while I realize that the lifestyle I have chosen for myself is not one of luxury, it's what I was born to do and I'm committed to it. :-)
