About Me

I'm a Michigan transplant. I grew up in south Louisiana, which I love dearly and miss daily. For those of you who care, my name was Gina Mueller then and for a short moment was Gina Kael. ;) My husband and I moved to Michigan in 1999 where we are raising our two gorgeous children. The winters are harsh but the fall is beautiful and I haven't seen one lovebug up here yet. I spent close to ten years teaching high school English in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Belleville, Michigan, and for the most part I loved it! I stopped teaching last year, and I must say not a day goes by that I don't miss it terribly and wonder if I made a mistake. I am now staying home raising a (hopefully) well adjusted family while contemplating a new career. In the meantime, we're expecting our bonus baby in January. Surprise!Our newest addition has arrived! Julian David was born January 17, 2007. He weighed 8 lbs 11 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Music:

Channel 955 in Detroit is my fave, but since my 7 year old quoted Mojo "talking about the sex" last month, I find myself listening to a lot of Radio Disney courtesy of Sirius. Still, I love grown up music like Dave Matthews, Coldplay, Eminem, John Mayer, The Fray, Mariah (even though she's a bit skanky), The Sundays, Sarah McLachlan, and any top 40.

Movies:

Anything with Vince Vaughn makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Television:

Dirt is the best show on TV! It is the trashiest of the trashy! I also love Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, mainly because I'm in love with Matthew Perry. I'm still a loyal fan of Friends and Seinfeld reruns.

Books:

Candace Bushnell, Jane Green, Jen Weiner--lots of chic lit that's just fun to read and requires minimal brain power.

Heroes:

My mother--breast cancer survivor.
