History, backpacking, music that doesnt suck, good books, and any thing that has to do with living off the grid. I like woodworking and Art Deco furniture. Science, especially geology and anything about space. I also have a habit of picking up random information about a broad variety of wierd stuff, conspiracy theories, ufo's, pop culture references, etc. I also enjoy people watching....people do some seriously fucked up stuff in public and if you blink you miss it. The other day I sat at a traffic light and watched a guy pick his nose, not just a little rub but a full on mining expedition. Hey buddy windows are made of glass, that stuffs clear ya know?
Damn near anybody. Just be honest and say what ya mean.
SoundGarden, Tom Petty, The Police, Sting, EELS, The pogues, The Doors, Iggy Pop,Bowie, Nirvana, Alison Krauss, Aimee Mann, The get up kids, Peter Gabriel, Bjork,Jim Croce, Roy Orbison, Sarah Mclachlan, 10000 maniacs, Journey (yes I like em goddamnit!!!) Dead can dance, Jimmy Buffett (hey I lived in florida for a while, its almost required) Jimi hendrix, Tori amos, The cure, John lee hooker. My friends Caleb and Bill and Alex. Do ya get the impression Ill listen to just about anything?
HOLY COW. Way too many to name. Touch of Evil, Evil DEAD 1,2,3 Star Wars(the old ones), 2001, Whale Rider(really good), LOTR,memento, Magnolia,Fight Club, The Station agent, Dune, Time Bandits, Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, Tully, I pretty much am a Movieaholic. Its rare that I see a movie with absolutely NO redeeming qualities. Im a big fan of independent films but I like a good shoot em up action flick or big budget tear jerker just as much as the next person. Guilty pleasure is chick flicks, and no that isnt a play to get girls to add me....but um dont let it stop ya either....ummm...ok moving on.
Star gate sg1(guilty pleasure), IFC and Sundance channels, and oh yeah baby History international. I dont so much watch tv as skim it. Recently Ive discovered a series on Showtime called Dead Like Me, This show fookin rawks. Holy Crap add Deadwood to the list. I just started watching it and Im seriously hooked.
woof. Way too hard with book titles, so Ill go wth authors. Hienlien, Asimov, Bill Bryson, Neal Stephenson(this guy is absolutlely brilliant), Gaiman, Stephen Ambrose, Sherman Alexie, most of the classics, shakespeare especially, Poe is good too, but only in moderation. Oh and Chuck Kloosterman, if you havent read Sex, Drugs, and Cocco Puffs yet getche ass out and beg borrow or steal a copy. This book is the "On the Road" of our time.....kinda.
My dad, and anyone who can admit thier limitations and strive to overcome them.
