In August of 2005, she created her urban line, with her influences and passions: Music, Art, Fashion, and Ministry. To preserve the authenticity of her designs, she made each piece as couture to symbolize it’s individuality. She named the line “Kaima.” which stems from the Arabic word “Naima” which means soft and gentle, then adding a “K” for a personal flair; finally adding a period to the end of the name to symbolize a Statement; thus creating “Kaima.”. In 2006, Karyn Jenius represented Kaima. in such events such as the 2006 All-Star Weekend, Houston’s The Breakfast Klub “Kross the Street Market”, and Exclusive launches. She has also spread Kaima. in cities such as St. Louis, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, and Connecticut. Kaima, has been seen on Actress Essence Atkins of WB’s “Half and Half”, Neo Soul and R&B Singer Dwele; DC/New York Emcee Mash Comp of Dumhi’s Crew; Five time grammy nominated singer Musiq Soulchild; MAC and freelance artist Shant’e; and Dj, Drummer, Philanthropist Questlove of the Grammy Award winning group The Roots.Kaima.
