Mariachi Las Caponeras

EL PRIMER MARIACHI FEMENIL DEL PASO TX.

About Me

La Caponera es la dama que acompana al gallero en el palenque conocida como simbolo de buena suerte. Since this group's beginning, the luck has carried these talented women to reach new heights in a male-dominated genre. Mariachi Las Caponeras is the first all-female mariachi in El Paso, Texas. The group was founded by it's director, Rocio Ramos, in December of 2000. Since its inception, Mariachi Las Caponeras has paved the road for other all-female groups that have emerged in the area. Mariachi Las Caponeras have had the honor of performing on several stages throughout the years having shared it with music icons such as Beatriz Adriana, Aida Cuevas and Pablo Montero. They have also had the honor of learning from some of the biggest icons in the mariachi community today. This talented group of women has traveled to various mariachi festivals throughout the country as well as performed at the famous Chamizal National Memorial for "Noche Ranchera" at their annual "Music Under the Stars" Concert Series. In their efforts to promote our Mexican heritage and culture, Mariachi Las Caponeras have also had the priviledge of working with Maestro Rodolfo Hernandez and his renouned Ballet Folklorico Paso del Norte. In July 2005 Las Caponeras attended the annual Mariachi Extravaganza in Albuquerque, NM and were awarded a 3rd place award in the open division mariachi competition.Click here for Myspace glitter graphics and Myspace layouts
