About Me

My pirate name is: Black Bess Bonney Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr! Get your own pirate name from piratequiz.com.

After you die...
Unstuck in Time
After death, you will become unstuck in time, and re-live various moments of your life. Time will cease to exist. One moment you will be learning to catch butterflies, the next you will be using your walker to go to the bathroom. You will live on forever in this way, constantly reliving the sweetest and not so sweetest of moments.

You are the World

Completion, Good Reward.

The World is the final card of the Major Arcana, and as such represents saturnian energies, time, and completion.

The World card pictures a dancer in a Yoni (sometimes made of laurel leaves). The Yoni symbolizes the great Mother, the cervix through which everything is born, and also the doorway to the next life after death. It is indicative of a complete circle. Everything is finally coming together, successfully and at last. You will get that Ph.D. you've been working for years to complete, graduate at long last, marry after a long engagement, or finish that huge project. This card is not for little ends, but for big ones, important ones, ones that come with well earned cheers and acknowledgements. Your hard work, knowledge, wisdom, patience, etc, will absolutely pay-off; you've done everything right.

You're Anne of Green Gables!
by L.M. Montgomery
Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You're impulsive, rash, honest, and probably don't have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn't exactly treat others with kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters. You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it.

My Interests

My son, music, beer, friends, laughing, SCUBA and just being in the water in general.

I'd like to meet:

I don't know that I'm here to necessarily MEET people, but I'd love to catch up with people from the past, esp. the DC area where I grew up. Lost contact with so many very fun people when I moved away.
And to all the lovely bands that keep requesting to be added, I'm sorry, I don't add people that I don't know or that aren't friends of friends, unless they are local.

Music:

Anything, no really, anything. Just depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

Movies:

Princess Bride, Dark Crystal, Blade, Underworld, Fight Club, Pirate of the Carribean, Dude where's my car?, Monty Python's Holy Grail, yeah, lots of fantasy, vampires and silliness. Fight Club doesn't really fit in there, but I still loved it.

Television:

Football, lots and lots of football. Heros, Gray's Anatomy, and Brothers and Sisters are current favorites. Alias was my all time fav.

Books:

Have recently reread the entire Harry Potter series. Have been told to get the British versions too. Next in line is the complete works of William Shakespeare. Love all things Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Robin Cook. Have read almost all of Anne Rice. Erica Jong was a favorite as a teen, and Terry Pratchett is a scream. Also, the Clan of the Cave Bear series. I thought she was supposed to write a fifth book, but I haven't seen it.

Heroes:

Heroes are hard to come by, but I'd have to say the women I work with. Any woman with a PhD and the ability to run a successful lab and have the respect of her peers. I don't think the ordinary person understands how difficut that is. Especially since these women have to deal with Washington wheat farmers!!! And my mom. No matter the obstacles, she has always perservered. We're all human and have faults, but I can never fault her for always doing what she thought was right.

Of all the "fathers" I've had in my life, only one meant a damn, Bill Wark.  He was the person my mother dated from when I was 13 until I was 21.  He, with my mother, walked me down the aisl...
