About Me

The upcoming classic rap album entitled K-TOWN is a musical odyssey reminiscent of his formative years on the west side of Chicago. Wood landed his first major film role in the basketball drama ABOVE THE RIM starring opposite the late Tupac Shakur. While living in Brooklyn, Harris became well known in New York’s underground poetry scene. Together with contemporaries including Saul Williams, Mos Def and Talib Kweli the group became innovators of a distinctive oratory style of poetic rhythm and delivery born from Black culture, high art and hip hop.Wood was recognized with his first NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture and the Blockbuster Movie Award nomination for Favorite Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his moving performance in REMEMBER THE TITANS. Later that same year Wood received rave reviews for his portrayal of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix in the original Movie, HENDRIX.As a result of his character study and research he began to play the guitar left-handed. His soon to be released CD, THE LEGEND OF FLUKI STOKES, is an alternative rap/rock fusion album and features Wood on the electric guitar. Following the release of HENDRIX, the long awaited Roc-A-Fella produced film PAID IN FULL finally hit theaters. The film became an instant classic.Wood began work as the cunning and ruthless drug lord Avon Barksdale. The portrayal of Avon Barksdale and his crew resonated deeply with the viewing public and THE WIRE has generated wide critical praise. It was named the best series of 2004 by Entertainment Weekly, which called the show "the smartest, deepest and most resonant drama on TV." The Best show EVER?

The US weekly reported that Obama's favorite show is the Wire. As the show comes to a complete end I find myself realizing what I truly never thought about, and that is that the critics may be correct...
