About Me
I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Born in New York in 1973, Robi "Draco" Rosa was brought up on music. His mother loved rock groups like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who, as well as '70s funk and R&B, while Robi's father was into salsa. At a young age, the Rosa family moved to Puerto Rico, where Robi became the lead singer of the legendary group Menudo and achieved international stardom.Rosa dropped out of the group in 1987, apparently because he wasn't allowed to write Menudo's songs. He packed his bags and moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he spent time with local artists who helped educate him and expand his mind musically. After releasing two solo albums in Portuguese, he moved back to New York and formed a group called Maggie's Dream, which allowed him to tour with bands like Fishbone and The Black Crowes. The band's success wasn't enough for Rosa, so he moved to L.A. to star in a film called Salsa in 1988, which is where he met his wife, actress Angela Alvarado. In the 1990s, Rosa released numerous solo albums, and while singing emotion-ridden songs on his own, he was behind the scenes, ghostwriting and producing for some of the top Latin pop acts, like Julio Iglesias and Ricky Martin. Maybe you've heard the song "Livin' La Vida Loca"...Robi Rosa recently released a new album called Mad Love, which crosses his angst-driven style with the pop-rock/romantic style he used for Martin. Robi "Draco" Rosa is a singer, producer, songwriter, and musician, but most importantly, he has passion. We had the chance to speak to Rosa about his upcoming projects, Ricky Martin, and infidelity on the road.In the meantime, if you'd like more information on Robi "Draco" Rosa, check out his official site, www.robidracorosa.com.
