My name is Chris Gillman. I currently reside in Greenfield, MA.
I compose and record my own music in my small but efficient recording "facility" at home, aka my pc. Posted here are some examples of my recording work, not all are necessarily my music, but I have engineered and produced (or at least co-produced) everything you hear.
If you are interested in cutting a demo I offer extremely affordable rates, starting at either $100 per song (depending on workload) or $25 an hour. These rates by no means indicate a lack of quality or effort, but is sensitive to local musicians who aren't "made of money". Recording in a studio can cost a pretty penny if you spend too much time, so that's where the idea of flat rates per song comes in. My only limitation is that I cannot mic a full drum set, so I generally use samples from real drums and program them. My software consists of Steinberg's Wavelab for digital mastering, Cool Edit Pro II (aka Adobe Audition) and I use Fruity Loops for sequencing and digital drum tracking. I have a set of (5) Samson drum microphones and an MXL condensor for recording instruments and voice.

I have just under 5 years professional experience in analog and digital studio recording, live sound, editing/restoration/medium transfer, and in-house sound system installations. I have had prior official education in soundwave theory and multi-track recording. I've also built full PA speakers from raw materials, and can set up and run a live system solo. I recieved training from a veteran with well over 25 years pro experience in these fields, so I learned a great deal in a short time. What I produce basically speaks for itself.
I have skills in many different styles of drums/percussion:
Ensemble percussion; progressive and death metal; rock; reggae; jazz... a bit of everything else tossed in. I offer session playing for studio at a rate of $15 per hour for drums, bass and guitar.
