About Me

My name's Caity. I like really crispy potatoe skins and my favorite apple is honeycrisp. You'll find I don't like drama and lots of politics in my life, and overall I'm a pretty easy-going person. I'm spiritual but not religious. I'm relatively liberal and open-minded. I really enjoy music and I love love love Switchfoot. I spent six months in Argentina last year and that was amazing. I believe that it's important to be happy with yourself before you can make other people happy. There can't be peace in the world if we're all fighting with ourselves. I can never remember my social security number. I play the violin for pure enjoyment. I like to whistle. I'm a really horrendous speller thank goodness for spell check. I don't believe you need a significant other to make you happy or fulfilled. Sometime's the whole notion seems forced to me. I really like having a busy schedual and even when I'm at home I rarely sit and watch TV. I usually feel really bored if I'm not doing something, even if it's cleaning my room or walking in my yard. I like the word brittle. I have a twin Eva who's cool and we have a lot of fun together. My brother Lucas is also a lot of fun. I hate malitious advertising. I really like polka-dots. One of my favorite things in the world is curvy things, for example this really cool road near me, and Van Gogh's painings. I'm really good at identifying people and voices and where they're from. I love my family. I really like minesweeper. I love the swoooosh sound dry leaves make on the ground outside in the wind. I don't think there's hardly anything better than curling up in a thick blanket with a good book and maybe a cup of hot chocolate. I'm really bad at crossword puzzles. A fault of mine is that I tend to isolate. I think global warming is a big problem and that American's should try to make an effort to use less resources and make better use of energy. Argentina opened my eyes to different cultures and contrasting ways of life, and there's a lot different ways to do the same thing, and neither way is necessarily the right way. The sound of ice cubes clinking on the side of a glass is nice. I also really like the smell of a ballpoint pen when I've been writing for a long time. I want to have a sucessful career but have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm drawn to humorous people. I dislike wearing accessories. I like the smell of laundry. I don't like mint flavored things. Like chocolate. Why ruin something perfect? On the other hand I don't believe in the saying "if it's not broken don't fix it." Because I think there's a lot of things that need "fixing" even though they can't be defined as "broken," because they were never working properly in the first place, and to fix it would be to put it right. I get kind of awkward when I talk on the phone. I'm not very technology savvy and am always asking my brother for help on the computer. Once I figured out how to change the right and left click buttons on the mouse on a computer at school and that was pretty cool. I can't stand people who are closed-minded. I think the smell of lemons is one of the most refreshing things in the world. I don't like my common name. Onions are a very strange food. Can marshmellows be put in a food group? There's this thing called milanesas in Argenina, which I haven't properly tasted in over three months and I miss it. I don't like to hear other people cracking thier knuckles yet I do it myself. My birthday is in February which has got to be the dreariest month of the year. I dislike holidays such as Valentines Day and "Sweetest Day." I always have two knots on my back on my shoulder blades. I love Disney World it's so much fun. The strawberry tarts from "France" are so delicious. I abhor sexists and racists and homophobes. I don't think America is a City Upon a Hill. Someone asked me How it was going the other day and I said "Can't complain" and I think that's bad. Not being able to complain about anything is a long ways away from happy. I don't believe in the war in Iraq, but ask me my opinion on what we should do now and I can't think of a good solution. Sometimes it seems like no one can win in politics. I sometimes concentrate on the worst in people. I really don't like it when people bash other people's viewpoints. To me it's acceptable to state something positive about what you think but when a person crosses over into dissing the opposite viewpoint instead of supporting thier own, that really gets my blood going. Sometimes I get this feeling of being fast-forwarded. Sometimes I get confused between English and Spanish and the grammer rules that go along with them. I'm a planner and I'm almost always prepared. Which also means I over-pack. I like finding symols in things, and I think Dan Brown over-does it. I never know if I should use a "-" or a ";" in my language class essays. . Personally, there's nothing worse than being sleep deprived. I love movies and tend to be very critical of them.

My Interests

Kind of the average senior, worrying about college and having a lot of fun with friends, I have a social life nowadays which is kind of new for me, ever since I returned from Argentina I've been more social I think...school too, I do a lot for school, homework and the like. I also really love Switchfoot and The Beatles. I'll add more here when I can think of more to add.

I'd like to meet:

Barack Obama, JK Rowling, Stephen Colbert, Peter Jackson, Jeff (from Project Runway), Amy and David Sedaris, Jon Stewart, Paul McCartney, Phillip Pullman, Jon Foreman, Dan Brown, Bruce Springsteen.

Music:

Around 1:23 does anyone else think that the street folk are the main singer, guitarist, and drummer from the band dressed up?
Switchfoot and The Beatles are at the top.
After that comes Tom Petty, Queen, Weezer, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Beck, Joe Jackson, The Killers, Third Eye Blind, Bowling for Soup, Green Day, Johnny Cash, and The Wallflowers. And I love listening to musicals, although now that I am away from Eva and Maddie I have no one to sing along to them with, so it´s not as fun...Wicked, Spamalot, Joeseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pirates of Penzance, Hairspray.Along with that there´s the movies with music in them...namely Lord of the Rings, The Lion King, The Nightmare Before Christmas, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Team America, and pretty much all those amazing old Disney movies. But there are also songs I love that I listen to just the one song by the artist. Since U Been Gone, More than a Feeling, Gold Digger, Surfin´ Safari, Rock Around the Clock, Numa Numa, Afternoon Delight, What a Wonderful World. And Chris' stuff.
