About Me

Hello all,This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile Editor ..This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile Editor Im Andrew Lewin a 19 year old originally from the 'happening' place of Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire in the UK. My experience at Uni (I am studying Politics at York University) has taught me that virtually no-one has even heard of Hertfordshire; the best summary is that it is a typical suburb of London, fairly quiet at night with the exception of the odd 'pimped up' peugeot 106 revving its engine as it bombs down the high street...!Anyway, enough of the delights of chav vehicles and Bishop's Stortford, im here to give you a brief introduction to my world. The most interesting facet of my life is that despite having just turned 19 i am absolutely determined to dedicate myself to a career in politics...When i tell people this, the reactions tend to differ, but they are genuinely somewhat cynical. There is undoubtedly a large mistrust of politicians, particularly amongst people from my generation. One of my central aims for my political career is to reconnect the people to the political process, a lofty ambition that won't be easily achieved, but one that i think is possible, especially from my experience of being part of a thoroughly enjoyable mock election at my last year in school.Critically, i believe politics is ultimately the best medium by which you can influence, the workings of society; and i want to dedicate my life to a career that genuinely results in improving people's lives. Of course i also admire people who work for charities and other non-profit organisations, who play a huge role in making the world a better place. Now, enough of the political speak, i chose to place it at the start of the post as i felt that it was quite an unusual trait amongst people my age. However that does NOT make me unusual! I still take part in and enjoy all the other typical student activities. I am a keen sports fan, and although i particularly love playing and watching cricket (still not over the quality of the ashes win!) i follow virtually every sport that is played in the Uk. I am a big fan of Man Utd, and think that Andy Murray is a star in the making in the tennis world. As far as intersts in films and music go, i have to admit to being fairly mainstream. Favourite film has to be the Matrix, closely followed by Gladiator, and then all the great trilogies, Lord of the Rings, the Godfather and Star Wars. Music wise, diggin the killers, coldplay, green day, delta goodrem, oasis, the calling. As well as that i have to admit a love for cheesy pop, more so when ive had a good alcohol inspired night out, a singalong to something like S Club is great fun!On that controversial note i will leave you all to judge me, and feel free to get in contact with me to talk about anything in the world from pop music to European politics, i will always have an opinion!

My Interests

See my lengthy 'about me' section! In a nutshell- POLITICS, and making the world a better place. And, when im not trying to be a hero- the normal things on life- particularly sport.

I'd like to meet:

There is no-one specific i would like to meet, it is open to any and everyone to come and talk to me.Feel free to get in contact with me to talk about anything in the world from pop music to European politics, i will always have an opinion!
You Are Dr. Pepper
You're very unique and funky, yet you still have a bit of traditionalism to you.
People who like you think they have great taste... and they usually do.

Your best soda match: Root Beer

Stay away from: 7 Up What Kind of Soda Are You?

Music:

Music wise, digging: The killers, coldplay, green day, delta goodrem, oasis, the calling. As well as that i have to admit a love for cheesy pop, more so when ive had a good alcohol inspired night out, a singalong to something like S Club is great fun!

Movies:

Favourite film has to be the Matrix, closely followed by Gladiator, and then all the great trilogies, Lord of the Rings, the Godfather and Star Wars.

Television:

The Simpsons for obvious reasons, enjoyed episodes of Family Guy ive seen, but it will be a long time until it can overtake Homer and the crew. Also: Have i Got News for You, Friends, The Office.Mainly watch Tv for sport- didnt miss a ball of the ashes, and usually do't miss a shot at Wimbledon either

Heroes:

Andrew Flintoff- Not just the world's greatest cricketer- a truly top bloke as well. Apart from that i don;t hero worship anyone in particular, but have great admiration for loads of different people who are in the public eye for hugely different reasons. I mean its impossible to compare the qualities of an actor and a politician for example, although some would say that most politicians themseleves are accomplished actors...!

Sporting Troubles- Man Utd- Should Ferguson go?

Man City 3-1 Man Utd.... That is an incredibly troubling scoreline in itself, but the really worrying fact is that this calamitous result has come in a season where Utd have slipped from 1 disast...

The Charlie Kennedy saga

Thought that it would be apt for my first blog to be focused on the subject of the Lib Dems, and the demise of our most succesful leader in decades, 'chatshow' Charlie Kennedy! After months of specual...
