Read a book; see the world.
Inspire a child; see the future.
Love is easy; choice is hard.
Good people, also known as the "salt of the earth," are people from all walks of life who recognize the need to treat every person in their personal space as a good neighbor--unless said "neighbor" is attempting to steal, to injure, or to solicit from them. I want to meet every good person I can.
By the way, John McCain's idea of "salt of the earth" is too all-inclusive. Real people live in cities, on farms, in giant metropolitan areas, on campgrounds, and in random places all over this country and around the world. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY GARBAGE RHETORIC!
I love music. If I don't like YOUR favorite song, band, or album, respect it. Opinions are worthless, and feelings never matter more than truth.
I've watched hundreds of films in my lifetime. Great scripting and direction coupled with fantastic editing make movies watch-worthy. My hat's off to several of my favorite directors:
Lee
Scorsese
De Niro
Penn
Spielberg
Kubrick
Great films start with great scripts:
INSIDE MAN
CRIMSON TIDE
HEAT
THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER
DR. STRANGELOVE
and many others...
THE WIRE, most of the programming on LinkTV and Current TV, CALIFORNICATION, WEEDS, LAW & ORDER (all of them)
Let's just say that my second life's dream is to spend a week in the Library of Congress, in ALL its subsections! Reading is freedom.
Luther Wilson (RIP): grandfather--taught me what I needed in manhood in a two-hour talk...one week before his death
Pastor Lenard Roberson, Mt. Pleasant COGIC: taught me that real men love God, and that loving God means OBEYING God
Tina Ballard: mother--she continues to show me what a Proverbs 31 woman is.
