Profile GeneratorIn 1992, Daniel met Rob whom lived down the street. Their friendship grew and later on Rob was introduced to Daniel’s little cute brother Matt, who made fun of Rob because he couldn’t ride a bike.
Throughout their childhood years, the boys developed a strong passion for music which gave them the determination to learn an instrument and write music of their own. Rob took on ‘The Axe’ as his primary weapon and with many, many...many hours of training he mastered the skills of the guitar. Dan had quite the attitude and liked to fight, so instinctively he chose to make rumble with the Bass. Matt, having to defend himself from Dan, developed a technique for hitting things and wanted to play the drums. However mum and dad didn’t approve, so as Rob as his idol, he took up the guitar.
Like the desires of many musicians, the boys intended to start a band and jammed often in High School with another friend on the drums. Without a vocalist, the boys didn’t get beyond the jam room, so Rob put up his hand and took up the role of lead vocalist. After a while the boys realised things weren’t working out and with sheer determination to make a mark in the music scene, the boys began searching for a new drummer. In June 2006, Affekted was reborn with Mr Adam Porreca on the drums. Adam’s skills and expertise in the art of “banging†found himself to be the missing ingredient and exactly what the band needed.
The broad range of influences and styles created a mixed-berry smoothie with a unique pop-punk taste. With catchy melodies, punk rock riffs and the driving force behind the drum kit, these boys promise to deliver music like you’ve never heard before. Playing shows around Sydney and even down the coast, these 4 young guys continue to grow and make a name for themselves in the ever-growing music industry. With a growing fan base and plans to record, 2007 promises to be a big year for Affekted.
