Im August 2006 gründete sich die Band Shouling for Joey. Die ersten Shows wurden im Dezember gespielt und im Anschluss ein Dreisong Demo aufgenommen welches durchweg auf positive Resonanz stieß. Im folgenden Jahr befand sich die Band ausschließlich im Proberaum um an den Songs Ihres Debüt Albums „The Inital Spin“ zu arbeiten. Gesagt – Getan – und hier nun das Ergebnis.
„Wo ordnen wir unser Baby denn ein?“, so lautete der erste Satz der Band nach Fertigstellung. Aber ihr Album einzuordnen, fällt wie es scheint nur SfJ schwer. Alternativer Rock, der nach vorne und ins Ohr geht. Frontmann Marco Schmitz, die Gitarristen Robert Ewen und Marc Schönherr, Bassist Michael Stadtfeld und Schlagzeuger Elmar Fank kennen sich aus der Musikszene und spielten bereits vorher bei bekannten Formationen.
Shouling for Joey was founded in 2006. The first shows were performed in December that year and shortly thereafter they recorded their first DEMO CD. Due to the great response they decided to record their first Album “The Initial Spin†which will be released in August 2008. And this is the result!
“How to categorize our baby?†was the first question after having finished the album. But classifying their music seems to be difficult only for them. Alternative Rock combined with catchy melodies is their aspired formula for success. Lead singer Marco Schmitz, bassist Michael Stadtfeld, drummer Elmar Fank and the guitarists Robert Ewen and Marc Schönherr know each other from previous successful bands.
