Politeness is not a substitute for passion!

About Me

In today’s over-hyped and fad following music scene it can be quite difficult to distinguish what matters when it comes to that oh so frivolous task of selecting a band as the next big thing. Its tough believe me, but where do you draw the line? When do you say enough is enough? How often is it that a band comes along and inspires the confidence needed to make such a bold choice and stick to it for life? The answer is not very often.
Not since the days of The Stone Roses and Oasis has there been a genuine pretender to the throne. Don’t get me wrong, Artic Monkeys have done well recently but we are yet to see the longevity of their plight.
Far too often we see bands enter the world armed with little more than a few polite melancholy sing-alongs and then drift from our attention with about as much fuss as they grabbed it with in the first place. It’s sad but in their attempt to keep the peace and not offend listeners ears, they can become the architects of their own downfall.
It’s this politeness in their music that conjures up an image..... “Politeness.....that great substitute for passion!!!” And that’s the problem!! They don’t seem to have the fight, the hunger or the testicular fortitude to hold onto the prize once they’ve got it. Look at the biggest and most adored bands in history and you’ll see one thing in common. A passion for what they do. We all crave that feeling of excitement and anticipation surrounding a band but so rarely do we get it. Until today that is.
Born out of the passion and drive to grab hold of the smouldering baton left up for grabs by so many of the greats and run with it come The Fakers. A band hell bent on not just running with it, but beating you round the head with it to make sure that they have your full attention. They don’t like to fall short of the mark, merely good isn’t good enough, tepid melodies and cheap sentiments just wont do. It has to be huge! It’s this perfectionist attitude that breads confidence in a band, and it’s this confidence that is passed on for audiences and listeners alike to use and thrive on. After seeing and hearing what can only be described as one of the most exciting bands around, people know that something big is on its way and its just a matter of time.
Ladies and gentlemen here they are.......
