About Me

Performing songwriter RyLee Madison is an honest writer, crafting life experience into expressive and inspirational music. Best known for co-writing the hit single Crazy In Love for Diane Chase, RyLee has penned eleven of the twelve songs on her sophomore album, Me & Cinderella (Oct. 2006).Born and raised in Halifax, NS, RyLee traded her love for music shortly after high school for the security of a full-time commercial design career. However, after completing her diploma in Architectural Design, her life experienced a twist of fate. She was involved in a severe car accident while returning home from her first on-site inspection as a designer. The next five years were spent recovering from a permanent back injury. Fortunately, her voice and her creative talents were only temporarily silenced. "I believe that everything happens for a reason, says Madison. This was Gods way of placing me where I belong, making music."Since then, RyLees music has garnered multiple award nominations in both Canada and the US. She is a four-time winner of the Music Nova Scotia and was presented the Music Nova Scotia Humanitarian Helping Hands Award in recognition of her work with the American Red Cross during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.Following the release of her debut album, the life of rylee, in 2003, RyLee was the seventh most played female country artist on Canadian radio. In 2004, she released her Christmas album, Christmas At Home.As an ambassador for the Canadian Red Cross, RyLees life overflows with fascinating experiences that surface throughout her music. After two years of writing and working with her producer John Jennings (Mary Chapin Carpenter) and engineer Bob Dawson, her sophomore album is filled with rich production and mature lyrics. The finished product is a twelve-song album featuring stellar musicians such as Harry Stinson (percussion/vocals), Jon Carroll (keys/ vocals) and John Jennings (guitar/vocals).RyLee has shared the stage with George Canyon, Ken Tobias, Chely Wright, The Good Brothers, Gordie Sampson, Patricia Conroy, Dave Gunning, Lennie Gallant and many more.
