I finally decided to re-script my bearings. I am not sure where to start about saying who I am because I wear many hats, pants, belts and shoes---nor is there one response for what it is I do. Same goes for where I come from and where I’ve been.
For one I recently turned thirty this year and it is not a big deal…all I know is there are a lot of things I would have done differently, but I have no regret.
Nowadays, you will find me being a mother of a precocious 18 month old baby boy, and being a wife to my long time friend of 17 years, together we share painful and wonderful experiences, there is nothing left to prove but it is very understood we still may have a lot to go thru---but I am settled, making mortgage payments on my humble abode which I call “home.”
If you take notice you will find remnants of philosophy and poetry this is where I insert my ism---my passion for expression...
Things have changed for me ---for the better, some of you know my story and poke fun and make conversations of it, and some of you can relate and show me nothing but love and respect due to the ill fact of it.
I have found over the course of these few years who remain to be true and how I change when I am not around people who influence me to be crude, deceptive and fake. You know what they say; we become products of our environment. Simply due to the fact I have a delicate job and the environment I keep him surrounded in should be safe, this is why I changed and stay away.
You want to know who I am…I am a girl who grew up on First Street with my Grandmother who loved me and my mother who abandoned me, my father who knew me but choose to ignore me. Uncles who spent most of their time causing trouble. Which in turn I did the same, got kicked out of my middle school and had to struggle to get back into a regular school, but never the less I didn't let it hinder me from being a productive adult. I started working at the age of 16 and have never stopped! Started school again in my mid- twenties, and here you find me with a Bachelors Degree in the field of Information Technology and a few years away from a Master's in Computer Science. During these events I have several associate's degrees for the field I specialize in, which is hotel management and everything that falls under that umbrella. Along with my many accomplishments, I am a writer and published poet. I signed with a publishing company named Carcanet Press, which specializes in poetry and re-inventing poetry in motion as we know it. I am in the mist of writing an autobiography about my trials and tribulations. With all that being said...money is good, life is great and my downfalls are what make my morning and wakenings even more meaningful.
My mothers surname is of Native American, history says our ancestors were Aztec hints the last name "Astran" and colonized in Tenochtitlan (VeraCruz) which would make us natives of Mexico, but our part of the tribe reigned in Maztlan. My family has been in Texas for over 150 years. Besides every Hispanic person is indigenous to Mexico. Now, I am this women who has grown to learn and lessons turned to love and love being loyal and happiness is great and friends are wonderful and time does fly and now I am here saying hello and sending greetings to people I’ve known for years “Carolyn, Ruben, Jeffrey, Frances and Michael” who I grew up with and my friend Angie who I use to hit the walls up with and from the dude I first kissed and that guy I use to be with--- and that chic for the life of me I don’t know what I did to her---for her to hate me so much, Awww---loving my cousins who stayed close to me Mandy, Misty, Judy and Kennedy Alisha, Tia, Takola.
