Born in Beeville Tx, David "D" Elizondo began his music career in 2001 when he wrote the international smash single "I want to spend my whole life with you", or in spanish "Solo a tu lado" for
EMI Latin recording artist Jyve V. The song charted high on billboard and was later picked up by spanish soap opera "Juana la virgin" The song was produced by hit maker Rudy Perez (Universal Music) and gained the attention of Univision Records President Jose Bejar. In 2002, David "D" Elizondo began to work with A.B. Quintenilla of the Kumbia Kings on some songs for a new Kumbia King album. Unfortunately, none of D's songs made it on to the K.K. record but a friendship began with a great latin producer. When 2003 came around an opportunity arrived to sign with Univision Records, D and his band ATX later to be named ATM jumped at the chance. D's first love was R&B and Rap, so naturally fuzing the two worlds came easy. With David "D" Elizondo's new sound for cumbia, it immediately put ATM at the forefront of the latin market. The first single to drive this album was "Nadie". With the songs hip hop roots and Ds Cumbia grooves, Nadie was not only gaining Latin audiences but Rap and R&B audiences as well. ATM followed up with "Gangster Cumbia" another Hip-Hop Cumbia driving song. D's band ATM released the debut album "A Toda Maquina" on Sept. 30th of 2003. Writing and producing all of his first album with a little help from his lead singer Jose "Chelo" Mejias, D was ready to tour for his first time. ATM was on its way performing all over the United States, opening up for some of Latin music's biggest stars, Juan Gabriel, "Coffee te Cuba", Julio Iglesias and Dj Kane. On Sept. 16th of 2004, ATM released their second album Union Revolucion with Tejas records. The recent split between Univision and ATM was mutual, and ATM went their own way. Chris and John with Tejas records provided D with the tools he needed to grow and let his music take shape. The second album was once again produced by D, but this time the whole record was written by Jose Mejias. The first single off this album was called "Esta es la cumbia", a little of the mark for traditional Tejano music lovers, but ATM fans loved it. It was then followed up with the second single "Mila," a more Mexican- American cumbia with lyrics that spoke of a fathers love for his daughter. D and Jose then split ways shortly after the completion of their second album. D produced for other acts such as the female quintet group TABU. D took the project on and produced and co-wrote "Cumbia Pa Que" which gave the girls the momentum they needed to take home a Premio Nuestro award. In 2005, D then began to work on Elida Reynas album called "Si me quieres'" which sold very well for her and Tejas Records. After D disbanded ATM in early 2005, D spent the rest of the year contemplating his return to the spanish market. In Jan. 2006, David began to start working on his spanish SOLO album. The first song D recorded for this album is also the first single "Hittem." It was inspired by JT Money's "Hi Lo" or the spanish rendition of the song. D had worked with Rudy Perez before but never got a chance to sing one of his songs, so at the first chance, D recorded "Dime lo que quieres que haga." D first heard this song on the Jyve V Solar record. D took the time to record everything you hear on his new solo debut album entitled SOLO. This album is launched on D's own record label Whos Hits Music LLC. D launched his own label because he wanted to be more hands on, and like he's said time and time again "No one is going to work a record the way you would work your own record." From designing his own artwork to shooting his own videos to writing, producing, recording, and mixing the his new album. D is ready to release his SOLO album on June 19th 2007. With over a year spent on this album, D is ready to release a cumbia project like none other. "This is not a Kumbia King, DJ Kane, K1 album, this is a D album. This record says who I am." So to everyone June 19th, D is now SOLO, and ready to launch his debut album. For more info visit. www.whoshitsmusic.com or www.myspace/whoshitsmusic
