There Is No Spoon

About Me

I spend most of my time with things related to me being the drummer of the band Barra Head - that being touring, recording, composing, rehearsing and so on and so forth. I also help run the Danish independent record label Play/Rec which also releases our records in Denmark.
Beside form that I try to sit in where there is a vacant drum stool, so let me know if you need a drummer for your project!
I am also a recording engineer/producer for various people and always looking for challenges/work, so let me know if you need a guy for that!
I've been the house-engineer for Copenhagen based Club Play/Rec for 5 years until it closed down in December 2006. In that period I've been so lucky as to try my skills on live shows by lots of cool bands including: Red Sparowes, The Medications, Mount Eerie (AKA The Microphones), William Whitmore, Chris Leo. Mates of State, 90 Day Men, Honey for Petzi, Lack and Countless others.
On the recording front I've been involved with recordings by Barra Head, The Unit, The Magic Bullet Theory, The Violet Hour, Menfolk, Shelby Wolf a.o.

My Interests

Dream jockey at Karrierekanonen - National Danish Radio:

I'd like to meet:

People Who'd Like to Have Me Record/Arrange/Produce Their Stuff.

Get in touch with your ideas on projects - big or small - and we'll see if we can work something out.

Music:

Anything with heart and balls.

Grew up with a steady diet of Fugazi, Dinosaur jr. Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Misfits, Public Enemy, KRS One, Masta Ace, Gangstarr, Joy Division, pre-black album Metallica, Slayer, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and so on and so forth.

Not too much into contemporary sounds - Loudness War has left me cold and dead listening-wise. Lots of good bands still though.

Absolutely head over heels in love with Soul/Funk from the era in between Doo-wob and Disco. (something like 1963-1973)

Really trying to get more into early underrated Rock, Psych, Soul stuff (Sonics, 13th Floor Elevators, Lollipop Shoppe etc.) AKA Nuggets.

Movies:

Rosemarys Baby, Chinatown, The Godfather (yes, only the 1st one), Alien Trilogy (never mind no. IV), Confessions of a Dangerous mind, Oceans Eleven (original with the Rat Pack - the remake is OK as well), Down by Law (any movie that involves a well-planned theft is an instant favorite of mine), Reservoir Dogs, Vertigo, Evil Dead Trilogy, Itchi the Killer, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Tobe Hoopers version), Poltergeist I and II, and many more - get your own favorites and read more about these at imdb.com.

Television:

Honestly I haven't owned a TV or watched one for any prolonged period of time for the last 10 years - except the occasional soccer match. TV sucks your will to live and your hopes to aspire - and the news are just bullsh*t propaganda for the New World Order anyway. However I do watch shows online once in a while when something good comes up and right now I really enjoy CALIFORNICATION.

Books:

"The Complete Idiots Guide to The Recording Industry" - Since only complete idiots like the recording industry anyway.
reading "Behind the Glass" right now as well.

Heroes:

Producer Type People:
Daniel Lanois, Rick Rubin, Eddie Kramer, Martin Hannett, George Martin, DJ Premier, Terminator X, Dangermouse, Laurence T. Horn, Jimmi Page.

Other Type People:
Bill Hicks , Linus Pauling , Muhammad Ali , Linus Thorvalds , Simone de Beauvoir , Martin Hannett , Timothy Leary , Hunter S. Thompson , Chuck D , Desmond Tutu , Sam Philips (the record producer) , Charlie Parker , Gary Larsson .
