Miss.Cassandra

She's what happens when you separate the lyrics from the music and all that's left is a voice. She's the shy girl from your block that you'd catch singing down the street. She's that 80's R&B mix with a bit of new school heat. She's CASSANDRA ARCHER! When she is asked what makes her so different from the rest it is pretty evident. "I'm not coming into this game with the mentality that Im gonna fill anyones spot! I'm gonna be Cassandra. I love music, I eat, breathe and sleep music! " she describes her childhood growing up in jamaica queens as being surrounded by music. She remembers looking up to artists like Mary j. Blige, Monica and Brandy. "These women made you wanna stop and listen; it wasn't even based on glamour and looks, they had something to say!" Cassandra began her journey into the music world at the tender age of 13. She would create melodies and sing them to beats that were already popular. She was soon able to put her skills to use when she joined a group called "Per'cise". She has some success when the group was chosen to perform at a Christmas concert for Motown/Universal recording Artist Imagin and Epic recording artist "3LW". She later went on to form a duo called "2'Unique". While in this group she had the opportunity to work with very talented producers/writers: Rufus Blaq( Jennifer Lopez, Destiny's Child, Marques Houston, Olivia), Carlos McKinney (Boy II Men, and Lyric) and also Henessey (Boy II Men, Lyric and Before Dark). On her road to success she has also been an equal partner in a production/publishing company called Now Or Never/SoHi Entertainment.
Cassandra was involved with projects as both a writer and performer with Epic Records, J records and Universal records. By working in this enviroment she gained both knowlege and experience of how the industry really works. Cassandra is now a student at Five Towns college where she majors in Business Management and Music Business. She enjoys performing and writing songs that come strictly from the heart. Cassandra believes that "music is life". " I hope to be that girl that people can listen to and know that at some point and time, I was feeling exactly how they felt when I wrote that song."
