SumTalkBout Records was established January of 2004 by C.E.O. Sara'h "Rykashay" Evans. The company was build from the ground up with the vision of the highest skies... With Rykashay being a local artist herself constantly on the grind, she knew how hard it was to get into the industry. She then began to book herself shows and creating herself a crazy buzz! She began her own studio which came with learning how to engineer and produce. She then applied her buisness mind and hustle to go about the buisness side of music. With being said STB has been successfull for 4 yrs and counting with numerous of achievments under it's belt. It now offers studio time to other local artists @ $25 per hr, it now has on board producers with beats starting @ $50, graphics designs for any occasion, events planning, ect...STB have organized numerous events including "It's Goin' Down Tuesdays- WS @ Club 411, It's Goin' Down Fridays- Charlotte @ Lady D's, Unsigned Tuesdays - Charlotte @ Bahama Mama's, SouthSide Rides Talent show- ws @ Atkins High. As of June 6, 2007 "Lyrical Wednesdays" will began @ Club Pepper's 2801 N. Main St. High Point, NC EVERY 1st Wednesday of the month! Since this is for the 18 & older crowd...STB then started "Young & Restless Fridays" on Fridays @ Club Dejavu 3401 Indiana Ave. WS, NC for the 18 & under! These events are open to aspiring local artists. I guess you just can't stop destiny, huh? Even though the buisness mind seperates STB, they also stand out due to quality of music. Outside of the club thing, STB gives back to the community and participates in weekly volunteering. STB representatives volunteer every 2nd & 4th monday @ Samaritan Ministries (Soup Kitchen), works with disabled individuals when neede.... STB has stimulated a movement to encourage other young people to give back as well. Individuals such as Ashley Dixon, King James, Dimeunique, Talayia & Greg Mcbride have already been influenced to give back to the community thru this movement! STB has now created the S.T.B. Movement ( Sharing...Teaching....Believing...) which constantly takes place, but starting Jan. 19th STB will throw the 1st annual S.T.B. Movement for the homeless/less fortunate event. Yea...this company is way out of there box.....lol....Speaking out of the box STB decided to expand and increase their teams roster which turned out to be a bad idea due to artists not being disciplined and dedicated. They picked up artists like Dimeunique, King James, and Young Philly and then realized certain artists aren't willing to put in the required work, but want to see results...lol So this actually motivated the company to focus on Carolina's #1 all around artist, "Rykashay" and the female r&b artist "Paytience". STB has released Rykashays mixtape, Re-Up...The Series... "Grindn' Aint Eazy" Vol.1 in 07', which are available in stores and streets! Rykashay has blazed numerous mixtapes ranging from DJ Barry Bee in NC to DJ Toe Jam in Texas... "Audio Crack" her sophmore album is the next album release from this talented young lady. Speaking of albums, her freshman album "Fahrenheit 101", was a double disk head banger ranging from club to R&B totaling 24 tracks. Speaking of HeadBanger...the NEW HIT SINGLE titled, "HeadBanger" produced by Teddy Bishop, will be available 08'. Speaking of the hit single, she will be performing HeadBanger live @ the Queen City Music Awards December 17th as well as being nominated for best hiphop artist. She also has been nominated for best female artist and single in the North Carolina Underground Music Awards being held February 23rd in greensoro, nc (day before bday!) Since she stays on her grind, the release of the mixtape, "Carlolina Hustla" will hit the streets 07' hosted by NC's DJ ESUDD. Check out the website and stores to get your copy. Oh...did I tell you?
