About Me

Julie B's songs range from simple heartpouring driplets to proggy mathy hard tantrums and many moods in between. Her music always has a twist of the quirky but still manages to be hooky. Her lyrics, described by the press as "Dada-esque", are paintings of unfocused events but of very pointed emotions and references to the human condition. The word "baby" does not appear in any song. She received much critical acclaim and a regional following with her previous bands, True Heart Susie and the Quark Quintet. Billboard magazine described her voice as "soaring".The Julie B Well is a culmination of her work which is forward thinking while including the past. Julie B has the great fortune as always to gather the best musicians for this project: young, bright Eric Lundgren on guitar, sharp, creative Jordan Roepke on drums (nevermind his shredder status on the fretboard as well) and the musically wide Kramer Kelling on bass. Julie is most thrilled and pleased that her long-time friend and brilliant WAMI award-winning violinist Tom Hansen is once again joining her in this new project.Julie B is also a composer of award-winning serious modern classical music for various chamber groups and electronics. Julie B teaches voice, piano, songwriting, music theory, and composition at The Milwaukee Area Technical College, and has limited openings for private students at this time.
