Jeannine Rivers is a Classical Jazz and R&B singer-songwriter out of Whitefish Bay who discovered her love of performing at a very early age. Jeannine’s first music award was won in third grade when she sang Al Green’s song†Lets Stay Together†for a talent Contest. In the tenth grade she met her music teacher/mentor and life-long friend Kay Augustine, who encouraged her to enter the State of Wisconsin Solo and Ensemble Contest. For three years in a row, singing in Class B the first year and Class A the following years, she won starred 1st ratings in the local contests and then 1st places in the State Contest. During this time she studied with the acclaimed Diane Forlano under a Milwaukee Public School Scholarship

Jeannine has a very appealing voice, the range of her rich sultry voice has been described as electrifying, powerful, vibrant, sonorous and mellow. Especially known for her suave jazz style and heartfelt soul, she is stylistically versatile, with a wide vocal range. Her influences include Diane Schuur, Stephanie Mills, Angela Bofill, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Barbara Streisand, and opera singer Leontyne Price.
______________________________________________Jeannine is a free-lance vocalist who performs with many different local jazz musicians in the Milwaukee area. Some of Jeannine's past musical endeavors have included Adekola Adelapo, Jesse Hauck, Ben Hans, Ernest Collins, Dean Lea, Hal Miller, Lou Cucunato, Ginny Smith, Frank Tarintino, Lynn Lewandowski,Tom McGirr, Don Lewis, Steve Peplin, Scott Currier, John Hefter, Julie B, The Paul Spencer Band and many others. Jeannine has jazzed Milwaukee with her voice for a number of years and has performed at venues such as Alioto's, Cafe Luna + Lounge, Hilo Martini Lounge, The Jazz Estate, St. Johns Park Place, Discovery World, Hilo Martini Lounge, Riverwest Commons, John Hawks Pub, Rory’s, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Summerfest.______________________________________________Jea

Jeannine and the Milwaukee Area Technical College's Honors Ensemble recorded Senor' Blues at a live concert on May 16, 2008 under the direction of Steve Peplin._______________________________________________Same Love that Made Me Laugh--was originally written and sung by Bill Withers in 1974 and covered in 1977 by Diana Ross and again in 2004 by Queen Latifa.Jeannine had the honor of working on the Cover to Same Love that Made me Laugh in the studio with some very talented musicians -Tony Gehring of Living Dred on the bass, Eric Lundgren on Guitar, Chris Newlin on Drums and Singer/Songwriter Julie B as Studio Engineer.
