Young Saint, was born and raised in the violent city of South Richmond, California. Born "Walter Jamal Bland", Saint has been in love with music since before he can remember. Saint used to sing and rhyme on a karaoke machine he owned as a child. Saint begain singing lead in his church choir at a very young age. Throughout his childhood people would always tell him that he was very gifted, and that he should stick with music. At the tender age of thirteen, Saint began rapping to his siblings and piers at school. At this time, Saint became extremely poppular at school. When other students learned that he could both sing and rap; it became obvious that Saint would provide lunch break entertainment. His friends would ask him to "spit a flow". And girls he did'nt even know would walk up to him at lunch break and request that he sing them a song. Saint and his family moved from Richmond when he was thirteen years of age. His family had relocated in several different locations before finally settling in Sacramento, Ca. At age sixteen, still in highschool; Saint began battling other rappers from his school and other schools. Young Saint was successfull at battling throughout highschool.
When Saint stopped battling, as a senior in high school, he started a rap group named "Street Youngstaz". Street Youngstaz consisted of three rappers; Young Saint, 3rd Degree, and Legacy. The group recorded and released five mixtapes in two years. Saint would title and host all of the mixtapes, while also taking care of majority of the groups booking for studio time. After three years, the group released "Sumtin 2 Ride 2", thier sixth and final mixtape. Two months after the release of Sumtin 2 Ride 2, the group broke up. Short after the groups break-up, in late 2006, Saint started "Money Game Entertaiment"; an independent record label. Now, in what Saint would call "the second chapter of his life"; he's eager to show eveyone that he can become a very successfull recording artist.
Young Saint has worked very hard as a solo artist to get to where he is. What makes Young Saint so unique and so different from everyone else in this business, is that he puts his heart and soul into each and every song he's on. "I just try to reach listeners by using my energy and "down to earth" personality"; says Saint. "Most of my fans are drawn to my word play and delivery. Young Saint enjoy's writtting and recording songs for the ladies. Saint believes if you plan on being a successfull recording artist you must draw alot of fans to your image, "ecspecially the ladies". Though most Northern California artists get overshadowed by the more revealing Southern California artists, particularly those in Los Angeles; Saint's creativity and versatility gives him a great chance to succeed in the music industry. "I have something for every kind of music fan;" says Saint. The twenty-one year old triple threat is very driven stating; "The sky is the limit for me! If I get the chance, I'm gonna take this entire world by storm! My dream is to be recognized as one of the greatest talents of the twenty-first centry."
Young Saint, the self-proclaimed "Most talented unsigned artist", understands as a recording artist you must be able to sell yourself in this deep and competittive music industry. But when asked if he thought he were capable of going platinum in today's music world, the young artist simply said; "As I grow, Im only going to continue to get better." "I'm doing my homework on the games most successful artists right now; how can I not succeed?" Currently Young Saint is unsigned to a major deal, recording contract etc. But Saint doesn't let his lack of major label support stop him. With his "think out-side the box" and trend setting attittude, Saint continues to impress listeners by creating and putting out good music. "Music has inspired me all of my life; says Saint. "So I wont let anyone or anything stand in the way of me accomplishing my dream!"
