I've been playing keyboards in NE Ohio bands since I was 14. I've played everything but polka (it's just a matter of time). You can find me playing my red keyboard (see pic above) in bars around town, or at fairs and festivals in the summer.
I have a love for New Orleans music. I moved to NOLA 1 month before Katrina hit. I came back to NE Ohio in May 2006.
Let me explain my "band name" here on Myspace. "HiFi Joe" was the stage name of my great-uncle, a big-band drummer in the '40s/'50s/'60s. He toured Europe with the Army during WWII as the drummer in a big band. In the '60s, he caused a stir with the Musicians Union when he began playing fairs and festivals. He had a trailer-stage thing, and he would play his drums along with LP records. The Union said this was putting musicians out of work. It all seems kind of quaint now, in the age of samplers, sequencers, and so on.

The two videos below are from Docs Who Rock 2007, with the band Big Adventure.
These next two videos are with the band Aftermath -- The '60s Experience. In the first clip, I'm doing my best Farfisa organ imitation (and looking bored). In the second clip, I'm off-camera, but you can hear the Nord organ in all its glory. You'll also hear a tremelo violin line... I made the sample myself.
