DJ Hakim has been deejaying since 1987, but his recent success over the last few years has created a well-built reputation making his name a buzzword on the Atlanta DJ scene. Originally hailing from New Jersey, DJ Hakim has established himself as one of the up and coming DJ's in Atlanta.Spinning primarily vinyl along with using Rane SSL, Hakim gets special attention for his seamless, artistic and smooth transitional style. His sound is an energetic and aggressive high-octane blend of Old School and New School Hip-Hop, R&B, House & Dance, Vocals, Break Beats and party anthems, fused together to create an intense uplifting dance floor energy. Each performance is unique as Hakim's talent for connecting with the dance floor changes with each venue. He does, however, maintain consistency through his successful objective of delivering a fun, intense, but playful energy throughout each performance.
This energy, talent and professionalism has taken to cities such as Miami, Savannah, Philadelphia and has had local appearances at The Apache Cafe, Cotton Club, and numerous 'late nights' and house parties in Atlanta. DJ Hakim has also teamed up with the Alternative Hip-Hop band the Dyslexics to help add to their unique, yet energetic style. He has also the resident DJ for the Underground Art Project, where he has been involved in the world-renowned Sneaker Pimps tour, and the Masked Marauders Art Show. DJ Hakim appeared on the bill with the world renouned Atlanta based Rare Form DJ Crew, as well as the Arts, Beats, Lyrics Urban Art Expo at the 5 Spot Atlanta. Hakim also appears with Eastside Lounge’s resident DJ Solomon Grundy to move the crowd with a 2 DJ/4 turntable performance.
Most recently DJ Hakim is one of the resident DJs at Here to Serve Restaurant’s SHOUT in Midtown Atlanta and STRIP in Atlantic Station/Atlanta where you can find A-List celebrities, NBA and NFL players, and many of Atlanta’s elite. He has spun at numerous celebrity parties and corporate events for clients such as Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle (R), Yahoo.com, Coca Cola, R.J. Reynolds, the Ryan Cameron Foundation, and RnD Entertainment. Also as the resident DJ, Hakim has held down the club for the likes of Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, Wilmer Valderrama, Tracey Morgan, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Bobby Brown, Young Jock, and Too Short.Club owners, promoters, and clients find it a pleasure to work with him because of his practical down to earth attitude about life and business.
