About Me

Update:
Anybody who is interested in the modeling and acting industry in New York City, please join my (not very active! YET) group New York City Modeling.
Most modeling groups in MySpace are centered around the West Coast of the continental USA and this group is supposed to fill the gap.
More importantly, I am also a moderator for one of the, or maybe the, fastest growing online modeling community Model Mayhem , which will reach it's quarter Million profiles mark probably before the end of 2006 with about 100,000 active members in a 60 days period and growing. Funny enough, since I am so busy, I find it easier to upload some updated work on MM, than on my own website... To see some of my work, visit either my website or (better for recent editorial fashion work) my Model Mayhem Profile.
I am a Visionary and Adventurer.
Pretty much all my life, I have been a martial artist, hiker, mountain climber, scuba diver and spiritual warrior. Martial Arts is a way of life for me, whether you are actively training or you are inactive for whatever reason. Out of the 30 years as a martial artist, I have been the first 20 years a competitor and coach in various disciplines, all combat and full contact oriented.
Born in Munich, Germany, growing up in my formative years in media surroundings with a father who was working with the largest German broadcasting station, I have moved with my parents to many places and spend almost every other two years or less in another school. This allowed me to develop quite a set of social skills and to make friends fast.
Although I have been told countless times by press photographers and photojournalists from my mid-teens on that I am a gifted photographer, I always thought that if I have to make a living as a photographer, I may end up in a department store taking baby shots (not that there is anything wrong with that j/k) and that, if I have to make a living with it, I will lose the joy of the creative process of an artist.
My life experience taught me something that you can read and intellectualize, but unless you have experienced it, it will be nothing more than a motivational intellectual concept: I can ALWAYS recreate, I always can achieve bigger and better than ever before, because I have it done. That certainty is giving me the confidence and patience to wheather the storms and the long night and waiting for the great next morning...
Everything happens for a reason and it serves me!
Finally, I followed the advise of the first photographer who told me to do so... well... over 20 years later... but better late than never... I wish I could remember that first photographers name and I would send him a thank-you-note. As if that industry had waited for me, within weeks of entering that field, I received almost instantly offers to work with different smaller magazines and doing what I have the most talent for is portrait and environmental portrait photography. But I enjoy working in the fashion industry as well. By now, I am a internationally published photographer, I shot, Danny Glover, the princess of Morocco posed twice for me, Randy Jones, the cowboy of the Village People and many more. Recently I had the honor of being one of two photographers invited to the Polish Embassy to photograph the former president of Poland and Nobel Peace Price Recepient Lech Walensa. However, I am not a papparazzi, I get invitations to those events, sometimes as the only photographer, which is a plus.
My recent work is the "Disgruntled Bride" series, which will be completed soon and is subject to a documentary (probably two) and as of today (Oct. 17, 2006) not finished with editing and retouching and another art project with the known painter/artist Andy Golub where we did a cooperation for a body painting project, which will be showcased at the Nyack, NY "Art Walk Event" from October 19 to 22, 2006.
You can find my website at UdoR Photography.
Last but not least, I am also a non-militant, but strict vegetarian (eggs and basically no diary), who started to be on this path about 25 years ago. I had 2 two years interruption and was always more than happy to eat normal (vegetarian for me!) again... Non-militant means to me that I am not trying to "convince" someone... do what YOU want... I just educate...
You are invited to join Vegetarian Lifestyles , a brandnew, alternative group that welcomes vegetarians and vegans alike to share common aspects of those lifestyles.
Related to my martial arts training and dietary choice, I am also interested in alternative medicine and natural healing methods... pretty much since I am in my mid-teens as well.Feel free to contact me.

My Interests

My professional website is at
UdoR Photography

I am the owner of the following MySpace groups:

Vegetarian Lifestyles

Owner of following Yahoo Groups:

Tebori - traditional Japanese tattooing

Primal Survival - outdoor survival skills

Music:

I used to listen to a lot of music, from classical, to string instruments (Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Brahms), from Blues (Muddy Waters) to jazz (Coltrane, The Bird Parker, Dave Brubeck), to HipHop/R&B/OldSchool Rap, rave, to heavy metal (AC/DC and many more), Marylin Manson, Rob Zombie and ahh... what the hell... ya'll get the drift... I listen to almost anything for what I am in the mood for.

Movies:

Fast and the Furious; 2 Fast and 2 Furious; Blade I & II, Exit Wounds, The Replacements, Contact, Any Given Sunday, Independence Day, US Marshalls, Hackers, Torque, Road Trip, Old School... well... I have over 600 DVD's. Ya wanna know... ask... Otherwise I am also a documentary junky.

Heroes:

I admire anybody who overcame great obstacles in their lives... people who lost it all... taking the responsibility for their own failure, not blaming others for misfortune (but sometimes people ARE at least partially fault) and waiting for others to improve their living situation. Turning everything around and designing their own lives again.
