About Me

Sent off to classical piano lessons at the age of three, Ivan relished the prospect of what lay in front of him. He continued his proliferation of Classical music, training in Dublins Newpark music college and playing in several orchestras. Diversifying his instrumentation he notched up proficiency in seven different instruments ranging from flute to violin to voice, until he was forced to quit playing live at the age of 19 for medical reasons. (Never, ever, crack your knuckles kids!) He then turned his talents on conventional music and started DJing, playing on the Dublin pirate station ENERGYfm with the show Tuesday shoosday. Regular slots out included stints in Hogans, The Funnel, The Kitchen, The POD, The Chameleon Sound System with Sean Hand (RIP) and Jason Bongo Williams, all in Dublin, and La Glacier with Blue Van in Brussels. In studio, his production values interweave elements and structures gained from his classical background, lacing them into a contemporary field; his work has featured with the BBC, Moving Still, and Purple productions. He can now be heard hosting the The Blend Show on Powerfm.org every Saturday at 1400GMT with Dave Glennon, as well as various venues around Dublin..
