Hi everyone. I am a British author born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. Both My father and sister were authors. I see where my talent came from. My novel The Millstone won the John Llewelyn Rhys Prize and I was the recipient of a Society of Author's Travelling Fellowship in the mid-1960's. I am often described as being the author one should read to get a clear view of what it's like to live in England. I have been married twice once to an actor on a British sitcom and to my current husband who has helped me raise me two children from the previous marriage. I have very borderline libreal views on politics including social casting. In the Millstone I talk about being an unwed mother and all the predjidue that one would have to endure. While I wasnt an unwed mother I believe that they should have been treated with the fairness and equility. I have lived and loved and I am certin that I have made a few bad books but I believe the messages in them are powerful and should be considered
