About Me

I'm 24 years old and I live in Nashville, Tennessee. I am originally from a small town. Glad to be gone. There are a few people there that I don't care if I ever see again but there are also people that I miss (Jonathan, Swaffer, Mo-randa...) I graduated high school in 2000 and college in 2005 with a degree in Criminal Justice, which I am not using but school was fun. I am interested in music, politics, and reading. I am pretty laid back. I never get mad. I do cry a lot but that is just part of being a girl. I enjoy my job and I like to stay busy even when I am at home. I am a neat freak, borderline germ-o-phobe and I think I have a slight case of OCD. I am terribly absent minded so I make lists constantly but I still have that nagging feeling that I have forgotten to do something or I have done it wrong. I don't like to go out all night anymore. Jaime and I did enough of that last summer. I would rather go to bed at 8 every night and get up at 5 but no one I hang out with seems to like to do that so I stay up a little later and get up a little later. It's no big deal. I have a great boyfriend. We have lots of fun together and he LOVES me, despite all the weird things I do. He doesn't even mind that I am clingy! I am a pretty simple person. I am what some people would call a left-wing nut and I am proud of it. There is nothing wrong with being liberal. I love everyone, for the most part. I get along with almost everyone. I hate when people make promises they don't keep and I hate people that are always trying to push you down. I love to drink coffee in the morning and curl up with a good book at night. If I sit still for very long I go to sleep (family curse). I also talk in my sleep which some of my friends find very entertaining. I bite my nails but I am trying to stop. I am terribly shy esp. at work, where I have no friends because no one there is my age. I rarely drink (because I act STUPID and I get bad hang overs). I love to spend money. The older I get, the more I like myself, which is something not many people can say.

My Interests

I like to read. I read about 1 book every 2 weeks, give or take. Depends on how busy I am with work and what is going on in my non-existent social life. I have glasses now to read and wear when I drive at night. I am still getting used to them. I am beginning to like them more but I still feel ugly.

I'd like to meet:

Steven Tyler because I have loved his band since I was about 9 and I think he is the hottest old man ever. I would like to meet Al Gore because he is awesome. I would also like to meet Sheryl Crow. She is my favorite female artist and I think she is beautiful. Maybe my parents before they had me, just to see what they were like and if I changed them. My late Uncle Glen. Ummm, Angelina Jolie. I think it is really cool how she is doing her part to help those that are less fortunate. I hate rich people except the generous ones like her. I think it is ridiculous that some people can't even afford to eat and others have 9 cars and thousand dollar purses. It's absurd. I'm getting pissed off just thinking about it. Governor Bredesen, although I did see him several times while I was working at the Capitol, I have never actually met him. I also saw Dolly Parton but I didn't get to talk to her. I might if I see her again. I heard she's pretty nice.

Music:

I like all kinds of music, alternative rock is my favorite. I have some friends that are in some local bands and I really enjoy watching their shows (Tim Kappel and Toby Sio). Live music is one of the best forms of entertainment. I like the Counting Crows, Aerosmith, Chili Peppers, The Beatles, Guster, Sheryl Crow. I love the Loft and pretty much everything on Lightning 100.

Movies:

My favorite movie ever is the Wizard of Oz. After that I would say Forrest Gump and the Labryinth. Uncle Buck is one of my faves too as well as Dumb and Dumber. I would probably marry Jim Carrey if he asked me, seriously. I also love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Kate Winslet is amazing. I like to read the book before I watch the movie but that doesn't always happen.

Television:

I mainly watch reruns of Seinfeld, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and the King of Queens. I like The Office, My Name is Earl and 2 and 1/2 men but I can never remember when they come on. Also, How I met your mother is pretty good.

Books:

I love to read. I like books the most that are set in past times. I hate reading about the internet and cell phones or anything modern. I like mysteries and love stories (not to be mistaken with cheesy romance novels). My favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Time Travelers Wife, The Lucky Bones, The Secret Life of Bees, Lonesome Dove, What's Eating Gilbert Grape... I feel like I have to read more now b/c there are so many good books that I didn't read while I was in school. The reading programs in Hartsville need some serious reform. Parents, get your kids out of there now!

Heroes:

My family esp. my mom and dad, and brother and grandmother and well, all of them. Sheryl Crow, Al Gore, Stratton Bone (he has been a great friend to me and helped me with a lot of things).
