I am obsessed with the movie Superbad, watch it every night before I got to sleep, tend to have a foul mouth, sneeze in threes, am exhausted all the time, if i'm not stressed at my job it weirds me out, normal days not involving stress at work are semi-uncomfortable for me now but i do treasure them, i eat too many cookies, i laugh at everything, mistreat your animal and i will beat you, and you need to be funny in order to converse with me, no really.

My job makes me realize how shitty people can be. And it's sad that out of the million stupids I come across, there are a select few that I can count on my hand who are actually sincere and wholesome. I did an adoption for this man today. He had a cockapoo for 14 years. He told me his story of trying to find a new pet. He said he initially came to our shelter looking for a new cocker spaniel. He found one, and as soon as he turned his back to call his wife, someone had applied for the dog. He said he went to another shelter, same thing happened. He later came back to our shelter which happened to be today. He again looked for a cocker spaniel but we didn't have one. Then a staff member said, "oh wait we do have one!!" She had just came back from the groomers. Her name was Sugar. And oh how that man was so delighted. I did his adoption and it made me feel all warm inside. He told me he didn't want to get personal but he said he had lost both his parents six months apart and his last dog who has now passed was his companion and helped him get through the hard times. A very sweet family this dog is going to. This is why. This is why I do this.
Oh, and me and my co-peeps are crazy. But it's the norm where we work.
