The classical and electronica community call him Mikey. Klein is the beatmakin' wizard who satisfies the needs of underground mc's with his knowlege of all musical genres and his ability to manifest a different style of hip-hop thats sometimes just labeled as "weird." Mikey is so versatile and talented musically that he can practically pick up anything and play it.
It's no wonder..
Micheal Kleinschmidt, as hundreds of former employers know him as, has been breathing music around the time he started learning piano technique at five years old. Mikey isn't your typical starched collar pianist snob. Though he does seem to be too good for sheet music, he can listen to any song, pick it apart, and have it mastered in minutes. What if there's no piano part? Improvisation is also a major talent. A thousand kareoke bar crooners couldn't agree more.
Mikey has been involved in the music world for twenty years running. You name it he's done it. From playing piano recitals when he was a kid to being in a sucessful high school rock band. From directing music at a christian church to playing keys for industrial metal band, Auralast. From touring for a year with classical artists, Josh Groban, William Joseph and Lucia Micarelli and living the rock star life to moving to bohemian Portland Oregon, and holding it down at open mic nights all while homeless and without a dollar to his name. He's even been known to DJ and run sound at concert venues from time to time. Currently Klein is the head engineer at a local rap studio, Brown Bag Underground and is in such high demand that has put his own writing aside for the project. As far as where "Live from Mars" is at in production: The album is finished, but is waiting on funding to be pressed up and released. Hint: Donations are always excepted graciously
All in all, for Mikey, music is oxygen. Not even starvation, lonliness, and being broke will tear him away from his passion. He's said he could live in a cardboard box as long as he had his keyboard.
