As an Ibo Nigerian (Moms lineage), we are both damn hot and cool widdit! As a Brit we can be the kindest of people and in my second home NYC I meet the funkiest and most innovative of folk. When I'm touring I hate the hotel stays and the general dislocation, but its the people you remember. The spectrum of faces with stories that you meet under the many different circumstances. Witnessing sharp minded 5 year olds with full time jobs hustling peanuts in Africa and then hanging with rich Madison Avenue brats complaining that Daddy bought their new Lambourghini in the wrong colour really puts things into perspective. Hanging with Eugene a 'bum', (with respect) that I befriended in NYC and hanging with some way out there big music industry names, I know who I preferred on the whole! Music for me has been a gift that keeps on giving. I'm just trying to keep it real and make my own tiny existence mean something....Jah Live!
