Super Mario!!!!!
Originality is a rare commodity in these media-dominated, cynical times, but every now and then a band comes along that produces music of such mind-bending brilliance that only the culturally blind could fail to recognize.
ICED EARTH!! Few emotions register as deeply in the human subconscious as fear.
Few historical events are meaningful enough to enter the collective memory of a nation. Merging the recollection of your first-known terror with the significance of a sociological phenomenon, Iced Earth's Horror Show is destined to become a landmark album in the consciousness of a world hungry for something musically extraordinary.
HELLOWEEN!! During the boom years of the HM scene HELLOWEEN naturally advanced to become one of the most respected and influential acts in the world. The HELLOWEEN sound plus their songwriting formula inspired literally thousands of musicians, especially since the mid-90s, when numerous bands appeared on the scene, carrying the flame of the 80s. Some of those -Brazil’s Angra, Sweden’s Hammerfall, Italy’s Rhapsody and Germany’s Edguy - managed to establish themselves among the big names of the metal circuit. Aside from the unique HELLOWEEN guitar sound, generations of new hopefuls were being influenced by Michael Kiskes vocals. Although Kiske had a rather short, but intensive career, his vocal range between Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson and Queensryche’s Geoff Tate made him one of the most heavily copied singers in rock history.
ANGRA!! Like the mythical Goddess of Fire from which they take their name, Angra is a band that balances grace and beauty with devastating power. Burning with passionate aggression but also elegant craftsmanship, Angra's classically influenced songs combine heaviness with melodic accessibility, comparable at times to Dream Theater and/or Fates Warning. As evidenced by the success of the band's 1993 debut, Angels Cry, and the 1996 follow-up, Holy Land (as well as three EPs; 1994's Evil Warning, '96's Freedom Call and Holy Live from 1997) fans of progressive power metal all over the world have been enlightened by Angra, and are anxiously awaiting to hear more from the five-piece from Brazil.
MEGADETH!!
After he left Metallica in 1983, guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine formed the thrash metal quartet.
Megadeth. Though Megadeth followed the basic blueprint of Metallica's relentless attack, Mustaine's group distinguished themselves from his earlier band by lessening the progressive rock influences, adding an emphasis on instrumental skills, speeding the tempo up slightly, and making the instrumental attack harsher. By streamlining the classic thrash metal approach and making the music more threatening, as well as making the lyrics more nihilistic.
Continuing in the classic vein of melodic, prog-tinged German power metal, Freedom Call comprised vocalist/guitarist Chris Bay, drummer Dan Zimmermann, guitarist Sascha Gerstner, and bassist Ilker Ersin. The group debuted in 1999 with Stairway to Fairyland, and followed it two years later with Crystal Empire. To conclude Freedom call kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
