Though 88 could have used many well-known artists on his project, he really wanted his debut release, "Eulogy of Sterlen Roberts", to prove to the industry that not every over-looked artist just fades away into the darkness. This album is a crazy blend of rap, street, hip-hop, R&B and soul all mixed with a dash of gospel. The album brings you through many different moods. You'll find yourself ready to get up and dance at one point, then settle in and feel the emotion of the soulful ballads. A recent critic was given an advanced copy and after reviewing the record said "It's like sitting through a really upbeat opera or concert. The style used in this record is unique and refreshing". You may have seen him on BET/MTV but you have no idea till you've heard his production skills. There is nothing that can substitute true art. This talented rapper/producer with a Gospel lineage, has worked with some of the industries most legendary producers & artist. Serving his time as a producer/artist with the likes of Devante Swing and the JODECI camp. 88 in his earlier years spent time working with legendary producer Narada Michael Walden who credits both Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey's hit records. 88 has also worked with artist such as K-ci & JoJo, Keyshia Cole, Michael Jeffries, American Idol finalist and long time friend Latoya London : producer Preston Glass: and even his gospel grammy nominated father Steven Roberts. 88's first music video was directed by Mike Taylor who credits (Diddy's group Boyz N Da Hood). If you are a first time listener to 88's music trust me you haven't heard the half of what this kid can do. He is able to produce soulful ballads as well as the hardest hittin club bangers.
